Argentinian La Liga round 40 best performance: Brandon Beavers

American Guard Brandon Beavers (188-G-2001) had a very impressive game in the last round for La Union Formosa, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 40.
The 24-year old player had a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds, while his team crushed Ferro (#6, 17-11) with 19-point margin 91-72. La Union is placed at 3rd position in Argentinian La Liga. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. La Union will need more victories to improve their 19-12 record. In the team's last game Beavers had a remarkable four three-pointers out of 7 attempts. It was one of impressive evenings for him as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Brandon Beavers averages this season 11.0ppg.

The second best player in last round's games was young international power forward Javier Saiz (206-PF-1994) of Instituto Atletico Central Cordoba. Saiz had a very good evening with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Of course he led Instituto to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Regatas (#8, 16-13) 97-67. This victory allowed Instituto to move up to 7th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 17-13 record is not bad and everything may still change. Saiz is one of the most experienced players at Instituto and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was guard Joaquin Valinotti (185-PG-1998) of Racing de Chivilcoy (#17). Valinotti scored 23 points. He was a key player of Racing Ch., leading his team to a 84-80 win against the higher-ranked Union SF (#13, 12-16). Valinotti has a very solid season. In 23 games in Argentina he scored 11.8ppg.
