Argentinian La Liga round 43 best performance: Thomas Cooper

American Guard Thomas Cooper (196-G-1992) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Racing de Chivilcoy, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 43.
The 33-year old player was the main contributor (13 points, six rebounds and four assists) to his team's victory, helping them to crush San Martin (#12, 15-17) with 17-point margin 91-74. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Racing Ch. is placed at 16th position in Argentinian La Liga. Racing Ch. is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 12-20 record. Cooper turned to be Racing Ch.'s top player in his first season with the team. Former University of Calgary star has very solid stats this year. Cooper is in league's top in points (2nd best: 16.1ppg).

The second best player in last round's games was young American Nakye Sanders (202-F-1997) of Atenas Cordoba. Sanders had a very good evening with a double-double of 20 points and 12 rebounds. Bad luck as Atenas lost that game 73-85 to the higher-ranked Instituto (#4, 20-13). Atenas is still in a red zone at 18th spot in the standings. 22 lost games are too many comparing to just nine victories Atenas managed to get this year. Sanders is well-known at Atenas and is a proven leader in his second season with the team.

Third on the list of top players last round was Venezuelan forward Jose Ascanio (204-F-1996) of Ciclista Olimpico de La Banda (#13). Ascanio scored 19 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Despite Ascanio's great performance the Olimpico lost 69-80 to slightly lower-ranked San Lorenzo (#14, 13-17). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Olimpico ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 19 games, recording just fourteen victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Ascanio could help Olimpico to bring them higher in the standings. Ascanio has a very solid season. In 30 games in Argentina he scored 13.6ppg. He also has 5.6rpg and a FGP of 59.8%.
