Argentinian LaLiga Femenina round 24 best performance: Florencia Chagas (by Hoops Agents)

Naturalized Italian Point guard Florencia Chagas (180-PG-2001) had a great game in the last round for second-ranked Obras Basket Buenos Aires, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 24.
The 24-year old player was the main contributor (29 points, three rebounds and two assists) to her team's victory, helping them to edge out El Talar (#5, 11-6) 77-75. Obras maintains the 2nd position in Argentinian LaLiga Femenina. They are still close to the very top. Obras would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 14-2 record. Chagas turned to be Obras' top player in her first season with the team. Florencia Chagas averages this season 13.6ppg.

The second best player in last round's games was another Obras' star - young Candela Foresto (163-G-1999). Foresto had a very good evening with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. It was enough for Obras Basket Buenos Aires to edge the lower-ranked El Talar (#5, 11-6) 77-75. Obras' second position in the standings has not changed. Her team lost just two games this season, while they won 14 matches. Foresto is a newcomer at Obras and despite she is not a team leader yet, every game she becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

Third on the list of top players last round was Luna Cao of El Talar (#5). Cao scored 10 points and grabbed 12 rebounds (!!!). Despite Cao's great performance the El Talar lost 75-77 to the higher-ranked Obras (#2, 14-2). But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing El Talar needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 11 victories and 6 lost games. Cao has a great season in Argentina. After 16 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 11.2rpg (3rd best).
