Francisco Caffaro claims Argentinian La Liga Hoops Agents weekly honour

International Center Francisco Caffaro (216-C-2000) put on an amazing game in the last round for Boca Juniors Buenos Aires and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 47.
The 25-year old center had a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds, while his team beat Union SF (#17, 12-22) 74-68. The game was not the highest importance and did not have significant influence on top of the standings. Boca Juniors is placed at 9th position in Argentinian La Liga. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Boca Juniors will need more victories to improve their 18-14 record. Caffaro turned to be Boca Juniors' top player in his first season with the team. Santa Clara University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Caffaro leads league in rebounds with 8.6rpg. Caffaro is in league's top in and averages solid 62.4% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young guard Nicolas Marcucci (190-G-2002) of Independiente de Oliva. Marcucci impressed basketball fans with 25 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists. Bad luck as Independ.O. lost that game 86-98 to the lower-ranked Platense (#15, 13-20). The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. Independ.O. dropped in the standings to 10th position. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 18-14 record is not bad and everything may still change. Marcucci is one of the most experienced players at Independ.O. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was another Independ.O.'s star - Enzo Filippetti (201-F-2001). Filippetti scored 26 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. Despite Filippetti's great performance the Independiente de Oliva lost 86-98 to the lower-ranked Platense (#15, 13-20). But his team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates. The last thing Independ.O. needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 18 victories and 14 lost games. Filippetti has a very solid season. In 32 games in Argentina he scored 12.8ppg. He also has 4.3rpg and a FGP of 63.9%.
