Bottom-ranked Argentino managed to get a seventh victory, breaking the series of seven consecutive losses on Tuesday night. This time they won against sixteenth-ranked San Lorenzo in Junin 80-70. Strangely San Lorenzo outrebounded Argentino 38-25 including 27 on the defensive glass. American swingman David Shriver (198-2000, college: VCU) stepped up and scored 24 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners and his fellow American import Dylan Smith (196-1997, college: Arizona) chipped in 13 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side the former international Kevin Hernandez (205-1991) responded with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. San Lorenzo's coach Sebastian Burtin rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Argentino maintains nineteenth place with 7-27 record. San Lorenzo lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifteenth position with 21 games lost. They share it with Platense. Argentino are looking forward to face higher ranked Regatas (#5) in Corrientes in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. San Lorenzo will play at home against Boca Juniors (#10) and is hoping to win this game.
An interesting game took place in Buenos Aires where 4th placed Obras (22-14) was upset on its own court by tenth ranked Independ.O. (20-15) 77-73. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Obras. Rolando Vallejos (195-2000) nailed 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and Enzo Filippetti accounted for 16 points. Independ.O.'s coach Martin Gonzalez allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Chilean Felipe Inyaco (181-2002) came up with 18 points for Obras in the defeat. Independ.O. moved-up to eighth place. Obras at the other side keeps the fourth position with 14 games lost. Independ.O. will play against league's second-placed Quimsa in Santiado del Estero in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Obras' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Buenos Aires to the arena Boca Juniors.

(#8) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Atenas will play against Obera (#3) and hope to secure a win.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 49: Instituto lost to Obras on the opponent's court 80-85. Boca Juniors managed to outperform Independ.O. in a home game 92-86. Penarol recorded a loss to La Union on the road 91-85. Platense was defeated by Regatas on its own court 87-95. Ferro beat Union in Buenos Aires 81-74.
The most impressive stats of the last round was 17 points and 10 assists by Martin Cabrera of Union SF.



Obras - Instituto 85-80
