Independ.O. made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Gimnasia helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Emiliano Lezcano (187-2001) who led the winners and scored 29 points and 5 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). Swingman Jonatan Torresi (190-1994) accounted for 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. point guard Juan Corbalan (185-1998) came up with 24 points and Spanish-Colombian power forward Juan Tello-Palacios (206-1985) added 8 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Regatas in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.

American Brandon Robinson (196-1989, college: Clayton St.) accounted for 14 points for the winning side. The former international Tomas Monacchi (198-1997) came up with 16 points and 8 rebounds and naturalized Italian Vicente Garello (203-1997, agency: BIG) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Instituto in the defeat.
