Venezuelan forward Anyelo Cisneros (200-1997) nailed a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side and Cuban swingman Marcos Chacon (194-2003) accounted for 22 points and 7 rebounds. Five Gimnasia players scored in double figures. Guard Fortunato Rolfi (186-2001) came up with 12 points and 9 rebounds and the former international center Agustin Caffaro (211-1995) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Independ.O. in the defeat. Independ.O.'s coach Martin Gonzalez rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
