We bring you last week's top performances from Bahamians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

Dwight Coleby
Dwight Coleby
#1. This week's number one is an international forward Dwight Coleby (206-94, college: W.Kentucky, currently plays in Belgium). He led Liege Basket to a victory against one of league's weakest teams Kangoeroes (0-1) 80-69 in the Belgian Euromillions League in Saturday night's game. Coleby had a double-double by scoring 14 points and getting 10 rebounds (made all of his six free throws) in 30 minutes on the court. It was his first game for Liege Basket this season; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his first season in pro basketball. His team is placed in the Euromillions League. Coleby is currently a member of the Bahamas senior national team.

Christopher Turnquest
Christopher Turnquest
#2. Second place goes to an experienced former international power forward Christopher Turnquest (204-83, college: Miles CC, currently plays in Spain). He was the major contributor in Arenys' victory against the 13th-ranked Palma II (0-2) 92-79 in the Spanish EBA (fourth division) last Sunday. Turnquest scored 25 points and grabbed 9 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Arenys Basquet Joventut (1-1) is placed eighth in Group C-B. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. It's Turnquest's first year with the team. He has individually a very good season with high stats. Turnquest averages: 22.0ppg, 12.0rpg, 2.0spg, 2FGP: 66.7%(16-24), 3FGP: 25.0%. He played for the Bahamas national team in 2006.

Jonathan Augustin-Fairell
Jonathan Augustin-Fairell
#3. The Bahamas player who performed third best last week abroad was an international forward Jonathan Augustin-Fairell (201-93, agency: Duran International, college: Murray St., currently plays in France). Augustin-Fairell could not help Cholet Basket (3-0) in their last game. Despite his good performance Cholet Basket lost 77-83 on the road to the lower-ranked (#6) Le Mans. Augustin-Fairell had a double-double by scoring 10 points and getting 11 rebounds in 27 minutes. But the season just started, so everything may happen. It's Augustin-Fairell's first year with the team. This season his overall stats are: 8.3ppg, 6.3rpg, 2FGP: 37.0% in three games he played so far. Augustin-Fairell has a dual citizenship: Bahamas and American. He is also a member of the Bahamas senior national team.

Jaraun Burrows
Jaraun Burrows
#4. Forward Jaraun Burrows (203-85, college: PFW, currently plays in France) was not able to help Provence Basket in their game against Chalons-Reims (3-0) in the French ProA. Despite his good performance in Tuesday night's game Burrows scored 11 points. But the season is still in it's first stage and everything can happen. Burrows' total stats this season are: 8.0ppg, 3.0rpg and 1.3apg. He is also Bahamas national team player.

Kentwan Smith
Kentwan Smith
#5. International forward Kentwan Smith (203-91, college: Stetson, currently plays in Denmark) managed to help Team FOG Naestved in a victory against the third-ranked Stevnsgade (0-1) crushing them 111-62 in the Danish BasketLigaen last Tuesday. Smith recorded 5 points in 16 minutes. It was his first game for Naestved this season. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group ProA. His team is placed second. His team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical. Smith plays currently for the Bahamas national team.

Gjio Bain
Gjio Bain
#6. Center Gjio Bain (211-85, college: S.Mississippi, currently plays in Japan) contributed to an Iwate Big Bulls' victory against the closely-ranked Kagoshima (0-2) 76-65 in the Japanese B League D4 on Saturday night. He recorded a double-double by scoring 11 points and getting the same number of rebounds. Bain also added 3 blocks. Iwate Big Bulls (2-0) closes the standings in the B League D4. But there are still lots of games to play and it's a long way to go. Bain's total stats this season are: 10.0ppg, 6.5rpg and 2.5bpg. He is a former international player as he played for the Bahamas senior team seven years ago.
