Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Bahamians who are currently playing abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international forward David Nesbitt (200-91, college: St.Thomas, FL, currently plays in Brazil). He contributed to an easy victory against the 11th-ranked SKY/Basquete (0-1) 73-54 in the Brazilian NBB in Saturday night's game. Nesbitt recorded 7 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 20 minutes on the court. It was his first game for Flamengo this season. His team is placed first in the NBB. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Nesbitt is currently a member of the Bahamas senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international forward Dwight Coleby (206-94, college: W.Kentucky, currently plays in Belgium). He could not help Liege Basket (1-2) in their last game on Thursday. Despite Coleby's very good performance Liege Basket was defeated 92-78 on the road by the leading Belfius Mons-Hainaut. He was the second best scorer with 17 points. Coleby also added 8 rebounds. But the season just started, so everything may happen. Coleby has relatively good stats this year: 14.7ppg, 7.0rpg, 2FGP: 73.7%(14-19) and FT: 94.1%(16-17). He is in the roster of the Bahamas senior national team.

   #3. The Bahamas player who performed third best last week abroad was an international power forward Kadeem Coleby (206-89, college: Wichita St., currently plays in Japan). He was not able to help Akita Happinets (0-4) in their last game. Despite Coleby's good performance the sixth-placed Akita Happinets (0-4) lost 92-104 in Niigata to the second-ranked Albirex in the East group. He was the second best scorer with 14 points. Coleby also added 9 rebounds and made 2 blocks in a mere 15 minutes. So far Akita Happinets lost all four games in the Regular Season. But the season is still in it's first stage and everything can happen. This year Coleby averages: 8.5ppg, 8.0rpg, 3.0bpg, 1.3spg, 2FGP: 47.8% and FT: 66.7% in four games he played so far. Worth to mention Coleby played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball. He is also a member of the Bahamas senior national team.

Gjio Bain

   #4. An experienced center Gjio Bain (211-85, college: S.Mississippi, currently plays in Japan) was not able to secure a victory for Iwate Big Bulls (2-4) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Bain's very good performance Iwate Big Bulls were defeated 66-62 in Saitama by the higher-ranked Broncos (#3). He recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and getting 12 rebounds. Bain also added and 3 steals. But there are still lots of games to play and it's a long way to go. It's Bain's first season with the team. This year he has relatively solid stats: 11.8ppg, 8.7rpg and 1.7bpg. Bain used to play for the Bahamas national team back in 2011.

   #5. Former international power forward Christopher Turnquest (204-83, college: Miles CC, currently plays in Spain) contributed to an easy victory against the eighth-ranked Barbera (2-2) crushing them 88-60 in the Spanish EBA (fourth division) last Saturday. He recorded 9 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in only 14 minutes. Arenys Basquet Joventut (2-2) is placed sixth in Group C-B. Turnquest has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 15.5ppg, 8.5rpg and 1.3spg in four games. Turnquest used to play for the Bahamas national team twelve years ago.

   #6. Forward Jonathan Augustin-Fairell (201-93, agency: Duran International, college: Murray St., currently plays in France) managed to help Cholet Basket to win against the league outsider Provence Basket (0-5) 77-70 in the French ProA on Friday night. He scored only 4 points. Cholet Basket (5-0) is placed first in the ProA. So far his team won all five games in the Regular Season. Augustin-Fairell's overall stats this season are: 9.0ppg and 5.6rpg. He has a dual citizenship: Bahamas and American. Augustin-Fairell is an international player who is currently on the senior Bahamas National Team roster.

   #7. International forward Jaraun Burrows (203-85, college: PFW, currently plays in France) faced previously mentioned Jonathan Augustin-Fairell in the French ProA last game. Burrows couldn't help the league outsider Provence Basket (0-5) in their game against Cholet Basket (1-4). He scored only 4 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 17 minutes. The bottom-ranked Provence Basket lost 70-77 in Cholet to the higher-ranked (#16) Basket. So far Provence Basket lost all five games in the Regular Season. This year Burrows' overall stats are: 6.6ppg, 4.0rpg and 1.2apg in five games. He is also Bahamas national team player.

   #8. Forward Tavario Miller (203-94, college: Texas A&M, currently plays in Spain) led Baskonia B to a victory against the fourth-ranked Marin (2-1) 79-70 in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division) last Sunday. He recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and getting 11 rebounds; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Miller's second season in pro basketball. Baskonia B (2-1) is placed second in West group. Miller has reliable stats this season: 10.5ppg, 8.0rpg and 1.5bpg. Miller attended previously one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball. He plays currently for the Bahamas national team.

Giants - Bahamas Univ. 79-71 Giants overcame University of Bahamas to take the lead in the semifinal series. Giants outrebounded Mingoes 51-37 including a 40-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Gameliel Rose fired 16 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Bahamas Univ. - Shockers 92-82 Bahamas University topped Shockers to advance into the semifinal stage. Mingoes forced 22 Shockers turnovers. Strangely Shockers outrebounded Mingoes 50-36 including a 28-11 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Shockers' players. 25 personal fouls committed by Shockers helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities.
