Here is the weekly review of the top performing Bahamas players, who play currently abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international guard Buddy Hield (193-93, college: Oklahoma, currently plays in NBA). He was the major contributor in a Sacramento Kings' victory against the Dallas Mavericks (15-13) 120-113 in the NBA last Sunday. Hield recorded 28 points (!!!) and grabbed 4 rebounds; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his third season in pro basketball. The Sacramento Kings have 16-13 record this season. Hield has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 19.2ppg, 5.1rpg, 2.5apg, 2FGP: 52.2%, 3FGP: 42.5% and FT: 83.6%. Hield is currently a member of the Bahamas senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to former international center DeAndre Ayton (216-98, college: Arizona, currently plays in NBA). He could not help the Phoenix Suns (6-24) in their last game. Despite Ayton's very good performance the Phoenix Suns (6-24) lost 119-123 on the road to the Los Angeles Clippers. He had a double-double by scoring 20 points and getting 12 rebounds. Ayton also added 3 assists and 3 blocks in 28 minutes; not bad, considering it's only his first season in pro basketball. It was Suns' seventh consecutive loss in a row. Ayton has very impressive stats this year: 15.6ppg, 10.1rpg, 2.5apg, 2FGP: 58.9%(206-350) and FT: 75.3% in 30 games he played so far. He played for the Bahamas national team in 2016.

   #3. The Bahamas player who performed third best last week abroad was an international forward David Nesbitt (200-91, college: St.Thomas, FL, currently plays in Brazil). Nesbitt contributed to Flamengo's victory against the eighth-ranked Minas (5-7) 91-80 in the Brazilian NBB in Saturday night's game. He scored 8 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Clube de Regatas do Flamengo (8-2) is placed second in the NBB. It's Nesbitt's first season with the team. Nesbitt's overall stats this year are: 7.6ppg, 5.2rpg, 2FGP: 62.5%(35-56), 3FGP: 17.1% and FT: 73.3%. He is also a member of the Bahamas senior national team.

   #4. Forward Kentwan Smith (203-91, college: Stetson, currently plays in Denmark) led Naestved to a victory over the sixth-ranked Stevnsgade (3-5) 84-65 in the Danish BasketLigaen last Wednesday. Smith was MVP of the game. He had a double-double by scoring 24 points and getting 10 rebounds in 30 minutes. Team FOG Naestved (7-5) is placed fourth in ProA group. This year Smith's overall stats are: 9.1ppg and 5.2rpg in 12 games. He is also Bahamas national team player.

   #5. International power forward Kadeem Coleby (206-89, college: Wichita St., currently plays in Japan) contributed to an easy victory against the fourth-ranked Hitachi Sunrockers (12-12) crushing them 93-73 in the Japanese B League on Wednesday night. He recorded 25 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Akita Northern Happinets (10-14) are placed fifth in East group. Coleby has relatively good stats this season: 13.4ppg, 9.4rpg, 1.6apg and 2.5bpg. Worth to mention Coleby played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball. He plays currently for the Bahamas national team.

   #6. An experienced power forward Christopher Turnquest (204-83, college: Miles CC, currently plays in Spain) was not able to help Arenys (7-5) in their last game. Despite Turnquest's good performance the fourth-placed Arenys (7-5) was badly defeated 87-68 at home by the second-ranked Sant Adria in the Group C-B. He had a double-double by scoring 13 points and getting the same number of rebounds in 22 minutes. Turnquest has very impressive stats this year: 17.9ppg and 10.9rpg in 11 games. He is a former international player as he played for the Bahamas senior team twelve years ago.

   #7. Former international center Gjio Bain (211-85, college: S.Mississippi, currently plays in Japan) was not able to secure a victory for Iwate Big Bulls (5-17) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Bain's very good performance Iwate Big Bulls were crushed 87-63 on their home court in Iwate by the leading Koshigaya Alphas. He recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and getting 11 rebounds. Bain also added 2 blocks. Bain's total stats this season are: 8.7ppg, 8.1rpg and 1.3bpg. He used to play for the Bahamas national team seven years ago.

   #8. Forward Travis Munnings (198-94, currently plays college basketball in the States) contributed to La-Monroe's victory against the Grambling State University 72-67 in the NCAA on Tuesday night. Munnings scored 16 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 26 minutes. The University of Louisiana at Monroe has conference record this season. Munnings is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fourth year in La-Monroe's roster. This season he has relatively solid stats: 13.6ppg, 7.1rpg, 2.5apg and 1.1spg in eight games. Munnings plays currently for the Bahamas national team.

   #9. International point guard Jaron Cornish (180, currently studies in the States) contributed to a Stony Brook's victory against the University of Delaware 74-68 in the NCAA in Sunday night's game. He scored 12 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished 3 assists. The State University of New York,Stony Brook has conference record this season. Cornish's total stats this year are: 8.5ppg, 3.9rpg and 3.6apg. He is also in the roster of the Bahamas national team.

   #10. Forward Charles Bain (203-96, is currently at the American university) couldn't help the Robert Morris in their game against the Rider University in the NCAA. He recorded 9 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Buthis team was badly defeated 69-50 on their home court in Pittsburgh by the Rider University. Bain's total stats this season are: 8.6ppg and 4.1rpg. He is a former U17 international player as five years ago he still played for the Bahamas national team.

   #11. Former U17 international forward Philip McKenzie (196-98, currently plays college basketball in the States) managed to help Houston Baptist University to win against the Arlington Baptist University crushing them 107-70 in the NCAA last Friday. He scored only 2 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. McKenzie's total stats this season are: 5.6ppg and 5.5rpg. He used to play for the Bahamas U17 national team three years ago.

   #12. International forward Tavario Miller (203-94, college: Texas A&M, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help Baskonia in their game against Marin in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division). Miller scored only 4 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. His team was defeated 73-63. Miller has reliable stats this season: 10.2ppg, 7.5rpg and 1.4spg. He attended previously one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball. He is also in the roster of the Bahamas national team.


The list of other players, who all have Bahamas passport but never been selected to any of Bahamas national teams:

   #1. Klay Thompson (201-G-90, college: Washington St., currently plays in NBA) led Golden State Warriors to a victory against the Sacramento Kings (16-13) 130-125 in the NBA in Friday night's game. He scored 27 points (!!!), grabbed 9 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 38 minutes. The Golden State Warriors have a solid 20-10 record this season. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. It's Thompson's eighth year with the team. Thompson has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 22.6ppg, 4.2rpg and 1.9apg in 30 games he played so far. Thompson has a dual citizenship: Bahamas and American.

   #2. Winslo Barry (208-F-90, college: Incarnate Word, currently plays in Spain) could not help Naron (5-5) in their last game. Despite Barry's very good performance Naron (#9) was crushed 104-80 at home by the higher-ranked (#5) Ponferrada CDP in the Group A-B. He recorded 16 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 25 minutes. Barry has reliable stats this year: 10.8ppg and 7.4rpg in five games.

   #3. Kaleel Solomon (185-G, currently plays in NCAA2) was not able to help the Montevallo University (0-0) in their game against the Clark Atlanta University in the NCAA2. Solomon recorded 6 points in only 13 minutes. his team was edged 58-55 on the road by the Clark University. This year Solomon's total stats are: 3.5ppg and 1.5rpg in four games.

   #4. Shamir Rolle (198-C, currently plays in NAIA) was not able to secure a victory for the Freed-Hardeman University (0-5) in their game against the Columbia College, MO in the NAIA. Rolle cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones. He recorded only 2 points in 18 minutes. his team was edged 68-65 in Columbia by the College, MO. So far Freed-Hardeman University lost all five games in the Regular Season. This year Rolle's total stats are: 0.3ppg and 1.3rpg in six games.

Bahamas Univ. - Giants 78-91 Giants grabbed the second straight win over University of Bahamas. The best player for the winners was the former international guard DShon Taylor (196-93, college: Norfolk St.) who scored 31 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists.
