Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Bahamians who are currently playing abroad.
#1. This week's number one is an international guard
Buddy Hield (193-93, college:
Oklahoma, currently plays in NBA). He could not help the
Sacramento Kings (30-27) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite Hield's very good performance the Sacramento Kings (30-27) were edged
120-118 on the road by the Denver Nuggets.
He was the top scorer with 25 points. Hield also added 5 rebounds and dished 3 assists (was perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line).
Hield has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 20.5ppg, 5.1rpg, 2.3apg, 2FGP: 49.9%, 3FGP: 44.9% and FT: 86.1%.
Hield is currently a member of the Bahamas senior national team.
#2. Second place goes to former international center
DeAndre Ayton (216-98, college:
Arizona, currently plays in NBA). He was not able to help the
Phoenix Suns (11-48) in their last game. Despite Ayton's very good performance the Phoenix Suns (11-48) were crushed
134-107 at home by the Los Angeles Clippers.
He was the second best scorer with 20 points. Ayton also added 8 rebounds in 29 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his third season in pro basketball. It was Suns' 15th consecutive loss in a row.
Ayton has very impressive stats this year: 16.5ppg, 10.5rpg, 2.0apg, 2FGP: 59.1%(386-653) and FT: 77.2% in 53 games he played so far.
He played for the Bahamas national team in 2016.
#3. The Bahamas player who performed third best last week abroad was an international forward
Kentwan Smith (203-91, college:
Stetson, currently plays in Denmark). Smith led
Naestved to a victory over the fifth-ranked Randers (12-10) crushing them
113-91 in the Danish BasketLigaen in Saturday night's game.
He was MVP of the game. Smith scored 24 points, grabbed 7 boards, dished 3 assists and stole 4 balls.
Team FOG Naestved (13-8) is placed fourth in ProA group.
There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical.
It's Smith's first season with the team.
His overall stats this year are: 9.4ppg, 4.8rpg, 1.2apg, 2FGP: 60.2%(50-83), 3FGP: 51.1%(24-47) and FT: 78.8%.
Smith is also a member of the Bahamas senior national team.
#4. Guard
L.J. Rose (190-93, college:
BYU, currently plays in Latvia) was the main contributor in
Valga-Valka's victory against the closely-ranked Latvijas Universitate (7-16)
84-76 in the Latvian LatEstBL last Sunday.
He was the best player in that game. Rose scored 20 points, had 8 rebounds and dished 7 assists in 31 minutes; not bad, considering it's only his second season in pro basketball. BC Valga-Valka/Maks&Moorits (6-15) is placed 13th in the LatEstBL.
Rose has very impressive stats this year: 17.5ppg, 11.5rpg and 6.0apg in two games.
He has a dual citizenship: Bahamas and American.
Despite Rose played previously for the USA U16 national team, he is currently in the Bahamas national team roster.
#5. International forward
Dwight Coleby (206-94, college:
W.Kentucky, currently plays in Japan) was not able to secure a victory for
Akita Happinets (13-27) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Coleby's very good performance the fifth-placed Akita Happinets (13-27) were crushed
85-58 in Kariya by the higher-ranked Aishin Sea Horses (#3) in the East group.
He recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points and getting 13 rebounds. Coleby also added 5 assists and 3 steals.
Coleby has relatively good stats this season: 11.0ppg, 10.8rpg, 2.3apg and 1.7spg.
He plays currently for the Bahamas national team.
#6. Forward
Travis Munnings (198-94, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the NCAA couldn't help the
La-Monroe (3-2) in their last game. Despite Munnings' very good performance his team lost
76-83 on their home court in Monroe to the University Louisiana at Lafayette.
He scored 16 points, had 9 rebounds and dished 4 assists in 39 minutes.
Munnings is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fourth year in La-Monroe's roster.
This season Munnings has relatively solid stats: 13.6ppg, 7.6rpg and 2.5apg in 24 games.
He is an international player who is currently on the senior Bahamas National Team roster.
#7. International power forward
Kadeem Coleby (206-89, college:
Wichita St., currently plays in Japan) is a teammate of previously mentioned Dwight Coleby and both played together in the last Japanese B League game.
Coleby couldn't help
Akita Happinets (13-27) in their last game on Sunday. Despite his good performance Akita Happinets (#5) were crushed
85-58 in Kariya by the higher-ranked Aishin Sea Horses (#3) in the East group.
Coleby was the second best scorer with 12 points.
Coleby has reliable stats this season: 12.7ppg, 8.7rpg, 1.4apg and 2.4bpg.
Worth to mention Coleby played also at
Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball. He is also Bahamas national team player.
#8. Guard
Shamar Burrows (190-97, currently plays in Canada) contributed to an easy victory against the Panthers (5-12) crushing them
98-61 in the U Sports on Sunday night.
Burrows scored 16 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in a mere 19 minutes.
The Dalhousie University has a solid 12-6 record this season.
It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row.
There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial.
This year Burrows' overall stats are: 3.3ppg and 1.8rpg in 16 games.
He used to play for the Bahamas U16 national team
back in 2013.
#9. Former U17 international forward
Qyemah Gibson (196-97, currently plays in Canada) was the major contributor in a
Saint Mary's University's victory against the Sea Hawks (5-11) crushing them
113-65 in the U Sports in Saturday night's game.
Gibson recorded 16 points.
The Saint Mary's University has a very solid 18-0 record this season.
So far his team won all eighteen games in the Regular Season.
They will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And now that game is quite important.
Gibson's total stats this season are: 5.9ppg and 2.6rpg.
He used to play for the Bahamas U17 national team
six years ago.
#10. Forward
Philip McKenzie (196-98, currently studies in the States) contributed to a
Houston Baptist's victory against the Nicholls State University (4-2)
88-82 in the NCAA on Saturday night.
He scored 13 points and grabbed 7 rebounds.
The Houston Baptist University has 1-4 conference record this season.
McKenzie's total stats this year are: 6.4ppg and 4.7rpg.
He is a former U17 international player as four years ago he still played for the Bahamas national team.
#11. International point guard
Jaron Cornish (180, is currently at the American university) helped
Stony Brook edge the University of New Hampshire
66-64 in the NCAA in Saturday night's game.
Cornish scored 10 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 34 minutes.
This year Cornish's total stats are: 8.7ppg, 4.2rpg and 3.4apg in 26 games.
He plays currently for the Bahamas national team.
#12. Former international power forward
Christopher Turnquest (204-83, college:
Miles CC, currently plays in Spain) managed to help Arenys Basquet Joventut in a victory against the 13th-ranked Barbera
73-65 in the Spanish EBA (fourth division) on Saturday night.
He scored only 2 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 12 minutes.
Turnquest has very impressive stats this year: 15.2ppg and 10.9rpg in 17 games.
He used to play for the Bahamas national team
back in 2006.
#13. Former U17 international forward
Charles Bain (203-96, currently plays college basketball in the States) couldn't help the
Robert Morris in their game against the St. Francis University (PA) in the NCAA. Despite his good performance in Saturday night's game Bain scored 10 points and grabbed 4 rebounds.
Bain averaged so far 10.3ppg and 4.5rpg.
He used to play for the Bahamas U17 national team
six years ago.
#14. International power forward
Robert Nortmann (204-87, college:
Dalhousie, currently plays in Germany) helped
Walter Tigers win their game against the closely-ranked Kirchheim Knights
94-81 in the German ProA (second division) last Saturday.
Nortmann scored only 3 points in 9 minutes on the court.
This year Nortmann averages just 1.5ppg in two games.
He plays currently for the Bahamas national team.
#15. Former U17 international forward
Jordan Wilson (196-96, currently plays in Canada) is a teammate of previously mentioned Shamar Burrows. But that was another game of his team in U Sports which we would like to mention.
Wilson helped
Dalhousie University win their game against the Varsity Reds
80-72.
He recorded 5 points and grabbed 7 rebounds.
Wilson has averaged so far 6.4ppg, 4.2rpg, 1.8apg and 1.1spg.
He used to play for the Bahamas U17 national team
six years ago.
The list of other players, who all have Bahamas passport but never been selected to any of Bahamas national teams: #1. Klay Thompson (201-G-90, college:
Washington St., currently plays in NBA) was the major contributor in a 2-point
Golden State Warriors' victory against the Miami Heat (26-30)
120-118 in the NBA in Sunday night's game.
He scored 29 points (!!!) in 38 minutes.
The Golden State Warriors have a solid 41-16 record this season.
It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row.
It's Thompson's eighth year with the team.
Thompson has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 21.9ppg, 4.0rpg, 2.2apg and 1.1spg in 56 games he played so far.
Thompson has a dual citizenship: Bahamas and American.
#2. Trevon Grant (185-G, currently plays in Canada) led
Acadia University to a victory against the Panthers (5-12)
90-78 in the U Sports last Friday.
Grant recorded 12 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in 30 minutes.
The Acadia University has a solid 13-6 record this season.
His team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical.
Grant averaged so far 11.4ppg, 6.9rpg, 2.7apg and 1.5spg in 18 games.
#3. Radshad Davis (188-G, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the NCAA could not help the
Texas Arlington (4-2) to beat the Arkansas State University (2-3).
Davis scored 8 points and grabbed 8 rebounds.

83-79 at home by the Arkansas State University.
Davis has averaged so far 8.2ppg and 5.8rpg.
#4. Shaquillo Fritz (203-F-94, currently studies in the States) was not able to help the
Arkansas St. in their game against the Texas State University at San Marcos (4-2) in the NCAA. Fritz cannot count Thursday's game as one of the best ones.
He recorded only 2 points, 10 rebounds and 2 blocks in 23 minutes.

Fritz has averaged so far 1.2ppg and 1.6rpg in 18 games.
#5. Nathan Bain (198-F, is currently at the American university) was not able to secure a victory for the
SF Austin (2-3) in their game against the Northwestern State University (1-4) in the NCAA.
He scored 5 points.

Bain has been at the team for four years.
Bain has averaged so far 6.0ppg, 4.3rpg, 1.4apg and 1.3spg.
#6. Winslo Barry (208-F-90, college:
Incarnate Word, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help
Naron in their game against Leon in the Spanish EBA (fourth division).
He scored 6 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in only 9 minutes.
His team was badly defeated by 17 points

Barry has averaged so far 8.5ppg and 6.5rpg in 11 games.
#7. Azaro Roker (198-F, currently plays in Canada) couldn't help the
St. Francis Xavier in their game against the Capers in the U Sports. He cannot count Saturday's game as one of the best ones.
Roker recorded only 3 points and blocked 2 blocks.
His team was defeated
104-99.
He has averaged so far 9.5ppg, 10.0rpg and 2.3bpg.
#8. Shamir Rolle (198-C, currently plays in NAIA) couldn't help the
Freed-Hardeman University in their game against the Missouri Baptist University in the NAIA.
Rolle scored 5 points and grabbed 6 rebounds.
His team was crushed by 32 points
81-49 in the NAIA.
He has averaged so far 2.5ppg and 3.4rpg.
#9. Willis Mackey (203-F, currently plays in NAIA) contributed to an
University of Northwestern Ohio's victory against the Lawrence Technological University
72-67 in the WHAC in Saturday night's game.
Mackey had a double-double by scoring 24 points and getting 10 rebounds. He also added 3 assists and 2 blocks in 23 minutes.
Mackey has very impressive stats this year: 16.6ppg, 8.9rpg and 1.2apg in 18 games.
#10. Aaron Levarity (198-F, currently plays in NAIA) contributed to a 2-point
Milligan College's victory against the Bluefield College
71-69 in the AAC last Thursday.
He recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and getting 13 rebounds.
This season Levarity has very high stats. He averages: 18.8ppg, 12.3rpg, 1.8apg and 1.5bpg.
