Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Bahamians who are currently playing abroad.
#1. This week's number one is an international guard
Buddy Hield (193-93, college:
Oklahoma, currently plays in NBA). He could not help the
Sacramento Kings (31-31) in their last game on Wednesday. Despite Hield's very good performance the Sacramento Kings (31-31) were edged
141-140 on the road by the Milwaukee Bucks.
He was the top scorer with 32 points. Hield also added 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals (made all of his nine free throws !!!).
Hield has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 20.9ppg, 5.2rpg, 2.3apg, 2FGP: 49.1%, 3FGP: 44.3% and FT: 86.8%.
Hield is currently a member of the Bahamas senior national team.
#2. Second place goes to former international center
DeAndre Ayton (216-98, college:
Arizona, currently plays in NBA). He led
Phoenix Suns to a victory over the Los Angeles Lakers (30-33)
118-109 in the NBA on Saturday night.
Ayton was MVP of the game. He had a double-double by scoring 26 points and getting 10 rebounds. Ayton also added 3 assists in 34 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his third season in pro basketball. The Phoenix Suns have rather weak 13-51 record this season.
It's Ayton's first year with the team.
Ayton has very impressive stats this year: 16.6ppg, 10.4rpg, 1.9apg, 2FGP: 59.6%(419-703) and FT: 75.3% in 58 games he played so far.
He played for the Bahamas national team in 2016.
#3. The Bahamas player who performed third best last week abroad was an experienced former international power forward
Christopher Turnquest (204-83, college:
Miles CC, currently plays in Spain). Turnquest contributed to an easy victory against the eighth-ranked JAC Sants (9-10) crushing them
65-36 in the Spanish EBA (fourth division) in Sunday night's game.
He recorded a double-double by scoring 11 points and getting 19 rebounds.
Arenys Basquet Joventut (11-8) is placed fourth in Group C-B.
It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row.
Turnquest has relatively good stats this season: 14.7ppg, 10.7rpg, 2FGP: 55.4%(98-177), 3FGP: 22.9% and FT: 74.6%.
He played for the Bahamas national team thirteen years ago.
#4. Power forward
Kadeem Coleby (206-89, college:
Wichita St., currently plays in Japan) was the major contributor in an
Akita Happinets' victory against the fourth-ranked Osaka Evessa (16-26)
70-55 in the Japanese B League last Saturday.
He had a double-double by scoring 17 points and getting 11 rebounds. Coleby also added 4 blocks and 3 steals in 34 minutes.
Akita Northern Happinets (14-28) are placed fifth in East group.
This year Coleby has relatively solid stats: 12.8ppg, 8.8rpg, 1.4apg and 2.4bpg in 38 games.
Worth to mention Coleby played also at
Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball. He is also Bahamas national team player.
#5. International forward
David Nesbitt (200-91, college:
St.Thomas, FL, currently plays in Brazil) contributed to
Flamengo's victory against the seventh-ranked Botafogo F.R. (9-12)
73-67 in a derby game in the Brazilian NBB on Friday night.
Nesbitt recorded 6 points.
Clube de Regatas do Flamengo (8-2) is placed second in the NBB.
There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical.
It's Nesbitt's first season with the team.
His overall stats this year are: 7.8ppg and 4.8rpg.
Nesbitt plays currently for the Bahamas national team.
#6. Forward
Travis Munnings (198-94, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the NCAA was not able to help the
La-Monroe (3-2) in their last game. Despite his very good performance his team lost
91-97 in Myrtle Beach to the Coastal Carolina University.
Munnings scored 23 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 37 minutes.
There are only two games left until the end of the NCAA Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial.
Munnings is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fourth year in La-Monroe's roster.
He has reliable stats this season: 14.0ppg, 7.5rpg and 2.4apg in 28 games.
Munnings is an international player who is currently on the senior Bahamas National Team roster.
#7. Former U17 international forward
Charles Bain (203-96, currently studies in the States), who plays in the NCAA was not able to secure a victory for the
Robert Morris (11-7) in their last game on Thursday. Despite his very good performance the Robert Morris was crushed
87-63 at home by the Sacred Heart University.
Bain scored 17 points and grabbed 4 rebounds.
His team will play only one more game in the NCAA Regular Season. And now that game is quite important.
Bain's stats this season are: 10.1ppg and 4.6rpg.
He used to play for the Bahamas U17 national team
six years ago.
#8. Forward
Kentwan Smith (203-91, college:
Stetson, currently plays in Denmark) couldn't help
Naestved (13-9) in their game against Horsens IC (2-6) in the Danish BasketLigaen.
Smith scored 8 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 19 minutes.
The fourth-placed Naestved (13-9) lost
70-76 on their home court in Naestved to the lower-ranked (#8) Horsens IC in the ProA group.
There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be important.
This year Smith's overall stats are: 9.4ppg, 4.9rpg and 1.2apg in 22 games.
He plays currently for the Bahamas national team.
#9. Former international center
Gjio Bain (211-85, college:
S.Mississippi, currently plays in Japan) couldn't help
Kagoshima (11-21) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Bain's good performance Kagoshima was badly defeated
86-68 in Tokyo by the higher-ranked Koshigaya Alphas (#3).
He recorded a double-double by scoring 11 points and getting 10 rebounds. Bain also added 3 blocks.
Bain's total stats this season are: 10.0ppg, 9.0rpg and 1.3bpg.
He used to play for the Bahamas national team
eight years ago.
#10. Forward
Jordan Wilson (196-96, currently plays in Canada) contributed to a
Dalhousie University's victory against the Varsity Reds (12-8)
81-75 in the U Sports last Saturday.
Wilson had a double-double by scoring 12 points and getting 11 rebounds. He also added 3 blocks in 28 minutes.
The Dalhousie University has a solid 14-6 record this season.
It was his team's seventh consecutive victory in a row.
This year Wilson's total stats are: 6.3ppg, 4.1rpg, 1.9apg and 1.1spg in 20 games.
He is a former U17 international player as six years ago he still played for the Bahamas national team.
#11. International point guard
Jaron Cornish (180, is currently at the American university) helped
Stony Brook win their game against the University of Maryland -Baltimore County
78-63 in the NCAA on Wednesday night.
Cornish scored 10 points and added 5 passes.
Cornish has averaged so far 8.8ppg, 4.2rpg and 3.6apg.
He plays currently for the Bahamas national team.
#12. International power forward
Robert Nortmann (204-87, college:
Dalhousie, currently plays in Germany) managed to help Walter Tigers Tuebingen in a victory against one of league's weakest teams White Wings
90-85 in the German ProA (second division) in Friday night's game.
Nortmann recorded 5 points in 16 minutes.
Nortmann has averaged so far 2.8ppg and 1.5rpg in four games.
He is also in the roster of the Bahamas national team.
#13. International swingman
J.R. Cadot (196-87, college:
TCU, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help
Moron in their game against Fontedoso Carrefour in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division).
He scored 6 points and grabbed 9 rebounds.
His team was edged
68-65.
Cadot has averaged so far 3.3ppg and 2.5rpg.
He is also Bahamas national team player.
#14. Former U16 international guard
Shamar Burrows (190-97, currently plays in Canada) is a teammate of previously mentioned Jordan Wilson. But that was another game of his team in U Sports which we would like to mention.
Burrows helped
Dalhousie University win their game against the Sea Hawks crushing them
83-59.
He recorded 6 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 16 minutes.
Burrows has averaged so far 3.9ppg and 2.2rpg in 19 games.
He used to play for the Bahamas U16 national team
back in 2013.
#15. Former U17 international forward
Philip McKenzie (196-98, currently plays college basketball in the States) couldn't help the
Houston Baptist in their game against the Lamar University in the NCAA.
McKenzie scored only 4 points and grabbed 4 rebounds.
His team was crushed by 35 points
110-75.
He has averaged so far 6.0ppg and 4.5rpg.
McKenzie used to play for the Bahamas U17 national team
four years ago.
The list of other players, who all have Bahamas passport but never been selected to any of Bahamas national teams: #1. Klay Thompson (201-G-90, college:
Washington St., currently plays in NBA) could not help the
Golden State Warriors (44-19) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the Golden State Warriors (44-19) were edged
126-125 on the road by the Miami Heat.
Thompson was the top scorer with 36 points. He also added 3 steals in 37 minutes.
It's Thompson's eighth season with the team.
Thompson has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 22.0ppg, 4.0rpg, 2.3apg and 1.1spg in 61 games he played so far.
Thompson has a dual citizenship: Bahamas and American.
#2. Shaquillo Fritz (203-F-94, currently plays college basketball in the States) was not able to help the
Arkansas St. in their game against the Georgia State University (3-2) in the NCAA.
Fritz scored 6 points and grabbed 8 rebounds.
his team was badly defeated
76-60 at home by the Georgia State University.
There are only two games left until the end of the NCAA Regular Season.
Fritz has averaged so far 1.5ppg and 2.3rpg.
#3. Azaro Roker (198-F, currently plays in Canada) was not able to secure a victory for the
St. Francis Xavier (7-13) in their game against the Capers (18-2) in the U Sports.
He recorded 6 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in 27 minutes.
The St. Francis Xavier (#5) was crushed
89-66 in Sydney by the Capers.
It was St. Francis Xavier's third consecutive loss in a row.
Roker has averaged so far 9.5ppg, 10.1rpg and 2.2bpg in 17 games.
#4. Radshad Davis (188-G, currently studies in the States) contributed to an easy victory against the University of South Alabama (3-3)
75-57 in the NCAA in Thursday night's game.
He scored 7 points and grabbed 4 rebounds.
The University of Texas at Arlington has a solid 4-2 conference record this season.
Davis' team will play only one more game in the NCAA Regular Season.
Davis has averaged so far 8.4ppg, 5.7rpg and 1.2apg.
#5. Nathan Bain (198-F, is currently at the American university) couldn't help the
SF Austin (2-3) in their game against the Central Arkansas (1-5) in the NCAA.
He scored 7 points and added 3 passes in 32 minutes.

92-74 on their home court in Nacogdoches by the Central Arkansas.
There are only two games left until the end of the NCAA Regular Season.
Bain has been at the team for four years.
Bain has averaged so far 5.8ppg, 4.0rpg, 1.4apg and 1.3spg in 28 games.
#6. Denzel Jenoure (203-C, currently plays in NCAA2) couldn't help the
Adelphi University in their game against the American International College in the NCAA2. He cannot count Tuesday's game as one of the best ones.
Jenoure scored only 2 points in 5 minutes on the court.
His team lost
78-82 in the NCAA2.
He has averaged so far 3.8ppg and 3.4rpg in 13 games.
