Here is the weekly review of the top performing Bahamas players, who play currently abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international guard Buddy Hield (193-93, college: Oklahoma, currently plays in NBA). He led Sacramento Kings to a victory over the San Antonio Spurs (44-33) 113-106 in the NBA in Sunday night's game. Hield was MVP of the game. He scored 26 points (!!!), had 5 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 31 minutes on the court; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Hield's third season in pro basketball. The Sacramento Kings have 38-39 record this season. Hield has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 20.9ppg, 5.1rpg, 2.5apg, 2FGP: 48.5%, 3FGP: 42.6% and FT: 88.7% in 76 games he played so far. Hield is currently a member of the Bahamas senior national team.

DeAndre Ayton

   #2. Second place goes to former international center DeAndre Ayton (216-98, college: Arizona, currently plays in NBA). He could not help the Phoenix Suns (17-60) in their last game. Despite Ayton's very good performance the Phoenix Suns (17-60) lost 115-120 on the road to the Memphis Grizzlies. He had a double-double by scoring 17 points and getting 13 rebounds in 27 minutes; not bad, considering it's only Ayton's third season in pro basketball. It was Suns' sixth consecutive loss in a row. It's Ayton's first year with the team. He has very impressive stats this season: 16.3ppg, 10.3rpg, 1.8apg, 2FGP: 58.8%(509-866) and FT: 74.6% in 71 games. Ayton played for the Bahamas national team in 2016.

   #3. The Bahamas player who performed third best last week abroad was an experienced former international power forward Christopher Turnquest (204-83, college: Miles CC, currently plays in Spain). He was not able to help Arenys (12-11) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Turnquest's very good performance the sixth-placed Arenys (12-11) was defeated 82-74 on the opponent's court by the higher-ranked Castelldefels (#5) in the Group C-B. He recorded a double-double by scoring 23 points and getting 11 rebounds. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Turnquest has relatively good stats this season: 14.0ppg, 10.6rpg, 2FGP: 53.3%, 3FGP: 25.6% and FT: 73.1%. He played for the Bahamas national team thirteen years ago.

   #4. Forward Dwight Coleby (206-94, college: WKU, currently plays in Japan) was not able to secure a victory for Akita Happinets (15-37) in their last game. Despite Coleby's very good performance Akita Happinets (#5) lost 69-84 in Tokyo to the higher-ranked (#3) Toyota Alvark in the East group. He had a double-double by scoring 23 points and getting 11 rebounds in 34 minutes. It was Akita Happinets' seventh consecutive loss in a row. This year Coleby has relatively solid stats: 14.4ppg, 10.4rpg, 1.7apg and 1.1spg in 10 games. He is also Bahamas national team player.

   #5. International forward David Nesbitt (200-91, college: St.Thomas, FL, currently plays in Brazil) contributed to an easy victory against the tenth-ranked Brasilia (10-16) crushing them 97-54 in the Brazilian NBB on Sunday night. Nesbitt recorded 9 points. Clube de Regatas do Flamengo (22-4) is placed first in the NBB. It was his team's 11th consecutive victory in a row. The Regular Season already ended. Nesbitt's overall stats this season are: 7.5ppg and 4.6rpg. He plays currently for the Bahamas national team.

Power forward Kadeem Coleby (206-89, college: Wichita St., currently plays in Japan) is a teammate of previously mentioned Dwight Coleby and both played together in the last Japanese B League game. Coleby couldn't help Akita Happinets (15-37) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Akita Happinets (#5) lost 69-84 in Tokyo to the higher-ranked (#3) Toyota Alvark in the East group. Coleby was the second best scorer with 19 points. He also added 8 rebounds in 30 minutes. Coleby has reliable stats this year: 12.9ppg, 8.7rpg, 1.4apg and 2.3bpg in 47 games. Worth to mention Coleby played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball. He is an international player who is currently on the senior Bahamas National Team roster.

International forward Travis Munnings (198-94, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the NCAA couldn't help the University of Louisiana at Monroe in their last game on Thursday. Despite Munnings' very good performance his team was defeated 108-102 in Houston by the Texas Southern University. He recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points and getting 10 rebounds. Munnings also added 5 assists. Munnings is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fourth year in University of Louisiana at's roster. He averaged so far 12.9ppg, 8.7rpg, 1.4apg and 2.3bpg. Munnings is also Bahamas national team player.

   #8. Center Gjio Bain (211-85, college: S.Mississippi, currently plays in Japan) was the main contributor in Kagoshima's victory against one of league's weakest teams Gifu Swoops (1-3) 79-77 in the Japanese B League D3 on Sunday night. He was the best player in that game. Bain scored 22 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and made 2 blocks in 38 minutes. Kagoshima Rebnise (1-1) is placed fifth in the B League D3. Bain's stats this year are: 13.2ppg, 11.0rpg and 1.3bpg in 10 games. He used to play for the Bahamas national team back in 2011.

International forward Kentwan Smith (203-91, college: Stetson, currently plays in Denmark) contributed to an easy victory against the leader EBAA (12-2) crushing them 93-64 in the Danish BasketLigaen in Monday night's game. Smith scored 11 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group ProA. Team FOG Naestved (14-10) is placed third. It's Smith's first season with the team. His overall stats this year are: 9.3ppg, 4.7rpg and 1.2apg. Smith is also in the roster of the Bahamas national team.

   #10. Forward Jonathan Augustin-Fairell (201-93, agency: Duran International, college: Murray St., currently plays in France) couldn't help Denain Voltaire (7-17) in their game against Sluc Nancy (17-7) in the French ProB (second division). He scored 9 points in 19 minutes. But Denain Voltaire lost 94-101 in Nancy to the much higher-ranked (#3) Sluc. It was Denain Voltaire's seventh consecutive loss in a row. This year Augustin-Fairell's overall stats are: 8.0ppg and 1.5rpg in two games. He has a dual citizenship: Bahamas and American. Augustin-Fairell is an international player who is currently on the senior Bahamas National Team roster.

   #11. International center Shaquille Cleare (203-93, college: Texas, currently plays in Spain) contributed to an Lleida Basquet's victory against the closely-ranked Castello 88-82 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) on Friday night. He scored 10 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Cleare averaged so far 11.8ppg and 5.8rpg. He plays currently for the Bahamas national team.

   #12. International center Zane Knowles (208-92, agency: Octagon Europe, college: Texas A&M-CC, currently plays in France) couldn't help one of league's weakest teams C'Chartres in their game against JA Vichy in the French ProB (second division). Knowles scored only 4 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 14 minutes. His team lost 74-82. Knowles averaged so far 11.1ppg and 6.6rpg in 10 games. He is also in the roster of the Bahamas national team.

   #13. International forward Tavario Miller (203-94, college: Texas A&M, currently plays in Spain) couldn't help Baskonia (18-6) in their last game on Saturday. Despite his good performance Baskonia (#3) was defeated 81-67 on the opponent's court by the lower-ranked Albacete (#6) in the West group. Miller recorded a double-double by scoring 11 points and getting 10 rebounds. Miller averaged so far 11.6ppg, 8.6rpg, 1.1apg and 1.1spg. Miller attended previously one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball. He is also Bahamas national team player.

   #14. International forward Mark St.Fort (200-88, college: Warner, currently plays in Bahrain) couldn't help Samaheej in their game against Al-Najma in the Bahrain Premier League, despite his very good performance on Tuesday night. St.Fort had a double-double by scoring 33 points and getting 19 rebounds. He also added 6 assists in 40 minutes. But his team was badly defeated by 17 points 102-85. St.Fort has very impressive stats this year: 28.3ppg, 17.8rpg, 4.0apg, 2.9bpg and 1.3spg in eight games. He is another player who holds two passports: Bahamas and American. St.Fort plays currently for the Bahamas national team. He used to play for Commonwealth Bank Giants in Bahamas league.


One more player who has never been selected to any of national teams, but has Bahamas passport:

   #1. Klay Thompson (201-G-90, college: WSU, currently plays in NBA) was the major contributor in a Golden State Warriors' victory against the Detroit Pistons (39-37) 121-114 in the NBA last Sunday. He scored 24 points. The Golden State Warriors have a solid 52-24 record this season. It's Thompson's eighth year with the team. Thompson has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 22.1ppg, 4.0rpg, 2.4apg and 1.1spg. Thompson has a dual citizenship: Bahamas and American.
