Here is the weekly review of the top performing Bahamas players, who play currently abroad.
#1. This week's number one is an international guard
Buddy Hield (193-93, college:
Oklahoma, currently plays in NBA). He could not help the
Sacramento Kings (2-5) in their last game. Despite Hield's very good performance the Sacramento Kings (2-5) lost
111-118 on the road to the Charlotte Hornets.
He was the top scorer with 23 points. Hield also added 4 assists in 38 minutes on the court.
But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen.
Hield has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 17.1ppg, 3.7rpg, 1.9apg, 2FGP: 44.7%, 3FGP: 37.5% and FT: 75.0% in seven games he played so far.
Hield played for the Bahamas senior national team one years ago.
#2. Second place goes to an international forward
Dwight Coleby (206-94, agency:
Interperformances, college:
WKU, currently plays in Turkey). He was the major contributor in a
ITU BB's surprising victory against the fourth-ranked OGM Orman (4-2)
94-93 in the Turkish BSL last Monday.
Coleby recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and getting 10 rebounds; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his second season in pro basketball. Sigortam.net ITU Basket Istanbul (1-5) is placed 14th in the BSL.
But the season just started, so everything may happen.
Coleby has relatively good stats this year: 13.8ppg, 7.8rpg, 2FGP: 57.7%(30-52) and FT: 56.3%.
He played for the Bahamas national team in 2018.
#3. The Bahamas player who performed third best last week abroad was an international power forward
David Nesbitt (200-91, college:
St.Thomas, FL, currently plays in Brazil). Nesbitt led
Corinthians to a victory over the 11th-ranked Botafogo F.R. (2-3) crushing them
102-76 in the Brazilian NBB on Friday night.
He was MVP of the game. Nesbitt scored 19 points and added 5 assists in 23 minutes.
Sport Club Corinthians Paulista (7-3) is placed fourth in the NBB.
But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen.
This year Nesbitt's overall stats are: 9.3ppg, 5.7rpg, 2.0apg, 2FGP: 58.6%(17-29), 3FGP: 27.3% and FT: 81.3% in six games.
He is also a member of the Bahamas senior national team.
#4. Small forward
Mark St.Fort (200-88, college:
Warner, currently plays in Japan) was not able to help
Saitama Broncos (5-6) in their last game on Sunday. Despite St.Fort's very good performance Saitama Broncos were defeated
78-66 in Aichi by the second-ranked Aisin AW.
He recorded a double-double by scoring 29 points and getting 11 rebounds. St.Fort also added 7 blocks and 3 steals.
But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen.
It's St.Fort's first year with the team.
This season he has very high stats. St.Fort averages: 21.4ppg, 10.7rpg, 2.7apg, 2.1bpg and 1.4spg.
He used to play for the Bahamas national team
last year.
#5. International forward
Tavario Miller (203-94, college:
Texas A&M, currently plays in Argentina) contributed to a 1-point
Quimsa's victory against the leader Regatas Corrientes (7-1)
97-96 in the Argentinian La Liga last Saturday.
He recorded 9 points and blocked 4 blocks in 23 minutes.
It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group Grupo B. Quimsa Santiago del Estero (7-1) is placed first.
It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row.
This year Miller has relatively solid stats: 10.8ppg, 8.3rpg and 2.1spg in nine games.
Worth to mention Miller played also at
Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball. He used to play for the Bahamas national team
last year.
#6. Power forward
Jonathan Augustin-Fairell (201-93, agency:
Duran International, college:
Murray St., currently plays in FIBA Europe Cup) contributed to a 3-point
Basic-Fit Brussels' victory against the closely-ranked Spirou Charleroi (1-1)
104-101 in the FIBA Europe Cup on Wednesday night.
Augustin-Fairell scored 11 points and grabbed 7 rebounds.
It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Basic-Fit Brussels (1-1) is placed fourth in the FIBA Europe Cup.
There are only four games left until the end of the FIBA Europe Cup Regular Season. So now every game will be critical.
It's Augustin-Fairell's first season with the team.
He has reliable stats this year: 14.5ppg, 5.0rpg, 1.5apg and 1.5spg.
Augustin-Fairell has a dual citizenship: Bahamas and American.
He is international player as he played for the Bahamas senior team one years ago.
#7. International guard
L.J. Rose (193-93, college:
Henderson St., currently plays in Finland) was not able to secure a victory for
Pyrinto (2-2) in their last game. Despite Rose's good performance Pyrinto lost
85-96 at home to the leading Vilpas.
He scored 10 points, had 5 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 26 minutes.
But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen.
This year Rose's total stats are: 9.7ppg, 6.3rpg, 6.3apg and 1.7spg in three games.
He is another player who holds two passports: Bahamas and American.
Despite Rose played previously for the USA U16 national team, he is currently in the Bahamas national team roster.
#8. Center
Zane Knowles (208-92, agency:
Octagon Europe, college:
Texas A&M-CC, currently plays in Greece) managed to help PAOK Thessaloniki in a victory against the sixth-ranked Ifestos (3-3) crushing them
94-74 in the Greek A1 on Saturday night.
Knowles scored 5 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in 16 minutes.
PAOK Thessaloniki (2-4) is placed tenth in the A1.
They ended the series of three consecutive loses.
But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen.
Knowles has averaged so far 7.2ppg and 8.3rpg in six games.
He used to play for the Bahamas national team

#9. International center
Shaquille Cleare (203-93, college:
Texas, currently plays in Spain) contributed to an
Lleida Basquet's victory against the fifth-ranked HLA Alicante (4-3)
92-84 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) in Wednesday night's game.
Cleare scored 17 points and grabbed 4 rebounds; not bad, considering it's only his second season in pro basketball. Actel Forca Lleida (3-3) is placed tenth in the LEB Gold.
But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen.
Cleare's stats this season are: 11.7ppg and 4.0rpg.
He is also in the roster of the Bahamas national team.
#10. Power forward
Kadeem Coleby (206-89, agency:
HMS, college:
Wichita St., currently plays in Japan) couldn't help
Akita Happinets (5-5) in their game against Levanga Hokkaido Sapporo (7-4) in the Japanese B1 League.
He scored 9 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 30 minutes.
But the sixth-placed Akita Happinets (5-5) lost
73-82 in Saporro to the higher-ranked (#4) Levanga Hokkaido Sapporo in the East group.
But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen.
Coleby's stats this year are: 12.5ppg, 5.0rpg, 1.3apg and 2.8bpg in six games.
Coleby attended previously one of camps at
Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball. He is international player as one years ago he still played for the Bahamas senior national team.
#11. Former U17 international forward
Qyemah Gibson (196-97, currently plays in Canada) contributed to a
Saint Mary's University's victory against the Panthers
92-87 in the U Sports on Saturday night.
Gibson scored 15 points, had 6 rebounds and dished 3 assists.
Gibson averaged so far 12.5ppg, 5.5rpg, 2.5apg and 1.5bpg.
He used to play for the Bahamas U17 national team
six years ago.
#12. An experienced international forward
Jaraun Burrows (203-85, college:
PFW, currently plays in France) couldn't help
Aix-Maurienne (1-3) in their last game. Despite Burrows' good performance Aix-Maurienne lost
76-84 on the opponent's court to the higher-ranked (#9) Saint-Quentin.
He recorded 11 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists in 30 minutes.
Burrows averaged so far 12.0ppg, 6.5rpg and 2.0apg in four games.

#13. Former U17 international forward
Jordan Wilson (196-96, currently plays in Canada) helped
Dalhousie University win their game against the X-Men crushing them
94-61 in the U Sports last Friday.
Wilson scored 12 points, had 7 boards, passed 3 assists and added 4 steals.
Wilson averaged so far 12.0ppg, 6.5rpg and 2.0apg.
He used to play for the Bahamas U17 national team
six years ago.
#14. Former U17 international forward
Sebastian Gray (198-97, college:
N.Okl.-Enid. JC, currently plays in Canada) is a teammate of previously mentioned Qyemah Gibson. But that was another game of his team in U Sports which we would like to mention.
Gray couldn't help the
Saint Mary's University (1-1) in their last game. Despite his good performance the Saint Mary's University (#4) was edged
71-68 in Charlottetown by the Panthers.
Gray had a double-double by scoring 13 points and getting 11 rebounds in 28 minutes.
Gray has averaged so far 10.0ppg, 8.5rpg and 1.5bpg in two games.
He has both American and Bahamas nationalities.
Gray used to play for the Bahamas U17 national team
back in 2013.
#15. International guard
Michael Carey (196-93, college:
Wagner, currently plays in Spain) is a teammate of previously mentioned Shaquille Cleare and both played together in the last Spanish LEB Gold game.
Carey helped
Lleida Basquet win their game against the fifth-ranked HLA Alicante
92-84.
He scored only 4 points and grabbed 4 rebounds.
Carey has averaged so far 3.2ppg, 2.7rpg and 1.5apg.
He is also in the roster of the Bahamas national team.
The list of other players, who all have Bahamas passport but never been selected to any of Bahamas national teams: #1. Kevin Altidor (196-F-90, college:
Young Harris, currently plays in Norway) was the major contributor in
Tromso's victory against the closely-ranked Ammerud Bskt (3-6) crushing them
110-85 in the Norwegian BLNO last Sunday.
Altidor scored 19 points, had 9 boards, passed 5 assists and added 6 steals.
Tromso Storm (6-5) is placed fourth in the BLNO.
It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row.
Altidor has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 22.7ppg, 11.6rpg, 3.0apg and 2.9spg.
#2. Azaro Roker (198-F, currently plays in Canada). Roker could not help the
St. Francis Xavier (0-1) to beat the Tigers (1-0).

Roker has been at the team for four years.

#3. Shaquille Evans (196-F, currently plays in NAIA) contributed to a
Montreat Anderson College's victory against the Alice Lloyd College
99-95 in the AAC in Tuesday night's game.
He scored 8 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 32 minutes.
It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. The Montreat Anderson College has record this season.
Evans has averaged so far 3.2ppg, 2.7rpg and 1.5apg in six games.
