Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The most shocking disappointment of round 9 in the NPBA was a home defeat of 3rd placed Wolverines (3-4) by fourth ranked Shockers (4-3) who outscored them by 15 points 67-52 in the game for the third place. It ended the two-game winning streak of Wolverines. William Rigby stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and Tamiko King chipped in 11 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was Rashad Saunders with 12 points and 8 rebounds. Shockers moved-up to third place which they share with defeated Wolverines. Newly promoted Wolverines keep the third position with four games lost. They share it with Regulators. Shockers' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Nassau Uptown Cuts.
Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Nassau: Rockets (#2) and Uptown Cuts (#5). Uptown Cuts were defeated at home 94-102 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Able Joseph nailed a double-double by scoring 28 points, 13 rebounds, 9 assists and 5 steals for the winning side and Ryan Turnquest accounted for 24 points. Forward Adorn Charlow (196, college: Three Rivers CC) came up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 18 rebounds for Uptown Cuts in the defeat. Uptown Cuts' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Rockets (4-1) keep a position of league leader, which they share with Bahamas Univ. Newly promoted Uptown Cuts keep the fifth place with four games lost. Rockets' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Nassau to the arena Rebels.
Another exciting game was again a derby between two local teams from Nassau: Uptown Cuts (#5) and Regulators (#4). Uptown Cuts (2-4) crushed visiting Regulators (3-4) by 20 points 94-74. The best player for the winners was Salathiel Dean who had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 blocks. Uptown Cuts' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Chico Francis who recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points, 19 rebounds and 4 assists. Newly promoted Uptown Cuts maintains fifth place with 2-4 record. Regulators at the other side dropped to the third position with four games lost. They share it with Wolverines. Uptown Cuts' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Nassau to the arena Shockers.
Another exciting game was again a derby match of two teams from Nassau: Giants (#1) and BIBT Great W. (#6). BIBT Great W. was crushed at home by 84 points 39-123 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It was a good game for Adam Johnson who led his team to a victory with 33 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Giants' coach felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Undefeated Giants (6-0) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with a perfect record of 6 victories in a row. Newly promoted BIBT Great W. still closes the standings with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

The most impressive stats of the last round was 17 points, 8 rebounds, 11 assists and 6 steals by Michael Bain of Giants.



Uptown Cuts - Rockets 94-102

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Nassau: Rockets (#2) and Uptown Cuts (#5). Uptown Cuts were defeated at home 94-102 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. Strangely Uptown Cuts outrebounded Rockets 64-48 including 23 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Uptown Cuts were plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. Able Joseph nailed a double-double by scoring 28 points, 13 rebounds, 9 assists and 5 steals for the winning side and Ryan Turnquest accounted for 24 points. Forward Adorn Charlow (196, college: Three Rivers CC) came up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 18 rebounds and forward Salathiel Dean added 19 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Uptown Cuts in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Uptown Cuts' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Another exciting game was again a derby between two local teams from Nassau: Uptown Cuts (#5) and Regulators (#4). Uptown Cuts (2-4) crushed visiting Regulators (3-4) by 20 points 94-74. Uptown Cuts forced 19 Regulators turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Uptown Cuts made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was forward Salathiel Dean who had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 blocks. Guard Mitch Bain (188, college: Iowa Lakes CC) chipped in 12 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Four Uptown Cuts players scored in double figures. Uptown Cuts' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Chico Francis who recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points, 19 rebounds and 4 assists and Alexander Rolle (-93) added 16 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Newly promoted Uptown Cuts maintains fifth place with 2-4 record. Regulators at the other side dropped to the third position with four games lost. They share it with Wolverines. BIBT Great W. - Giants 39-123

Another exciting game was again a derby match of two teams from Nassau: Giants (#1) and BIBT Great W. (#6). BIBT Great W. was crushed at home by 84 points 39-123 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Giants held BIBT Great W. to an opponent 23.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 54.7 percent accuracy of the winners. Giants forced 25 BIBT Great W. turnovers and outrebounded them 57-36 including a 33-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 35 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by BIBT Great W.'s players. It was a good game for Adam Johnson who led his team to a victory with 33 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international Michael Bain (185-85) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 8 rebounds, 11 assists and 6 steals for the winners. Five Giants players scored in double figures. Giants' coach felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Trevez Hamilton answered with 15 points and 6 rebounds and Jerard Ferguson added 12 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for BIBT Great W.Giants (6-0) have an impressive series of six victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with a perfect record of 6 victories in a row. Newly promoted BIBT Great W. still closes the standings with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
