NPBA Round 10: Bahamas Univ. keeps a leadership position

Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Bahamas Univ. as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Bahamas Univ. smashed 4th ranked Wolverines in Nassau 98-75. Bahamas Univ. forced 20 Wolverines turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 18 long-distance shots on high 51.4 percentage. Bahamas Univ. looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Wolverines' players. 28 personal fouls committed by Wolverines helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Kemsy Sylvestre fired a double-double by scoring 24 points, 14 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. point guard Robert Joseph (178, college: N.Okl.-Enid. JC) chipped in 32 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Bahamas Univ.'s coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Selwyn Mckenzie produced 20 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Rockets and High Flyers. Newly promoted Wolverines dropped to the third place with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Nassau: Abaco Strong (#4) and Defenders (#5). Defenders were defeated at home 83-95 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Worth to mention a great performance of Tevin Hudson who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Chauncey Cooper contributed with 21 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Gregory Seymour replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 19 rebounds for Defenders. Newly promoted Abaco Strong maintains fourth position with 3-2 record. Defenders lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with six games lost. Abaco Strong's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Nassau Giants.

Lenny Oscar notched a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds to lead the effort. Shockers maintains third position with 5-3 record behind leader Bahamas Univ. Newly promoted Uptown Cuts keep the fifth place with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

Defenders - Abaco Strong 83-95

Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Nassau: Abaco Strong (#4) and Defenders (#5). Defenders were defeated at home 83-95 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Abaco Strong forced 19 Defenders turnovers. Defenders were plagued by 33 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Tevin Hudson who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side forward Theo Ferguson responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds and Deniro Kemp scored 17 points and 8 rebounds. Another interesting game was again a derby match of two teams from Nassau: Shockers (#3) and Uptown Cuts (#5). Shockers (5-3) won against visiting Uptown Cuts (2-5) 72-67. They outrebounded Uptown Cuts 68-50 including a 26-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. 27 personal fouls committed by Uptown Cuts helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Point guard Lenny Oscar notched a double-double by scoring 26 points and 13 rebounds to lead the effort and Rameno King supported him with 6 points and 23 rebounds. Even a double-double of 21 points and 15 rebounds by Colton Albury did not help to save the game for Uptown Cuts. Guard Mitch Bain (188, college: Iowa Lakes CC) added 9 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for lost side. Shockers maintains third position with 5-3 record behind leader Bahamas Univ.
