Shockers - Rebels 74-61 The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Nassau: Shockers (#3) and Rebels (#6). Shockers (6-3) won against visiting Rebels (0-7) 74-61. Shockers forced 21 Rebels turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of Rameno King who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds and Horris McKenzie who added 17 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Four Shockers players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Dax Evans with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 16 rebounds and Deniro Kemp scored 17 points. Shockers have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 6-3 record having just three points less than leader Rockets. Newly promoted Rebels still closes the standings with seven games lost. They share the position with BIBT Great W.. Shockers' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Nassau Giants. (#2) and Abaco Strong (#4). Abaco Strong was defeated at home 76-88 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Bahamas Univ. dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Abaco Strong's 34. They outrebounded Abaco Strong 58-40 including a 20-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Bahamas Univ. players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Abaco Strong was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by Kemsy Sylvestre who had that evening a double-double by scoring 20 points, 15 rebounds and 7 assists and Christoff McKenzie supported him with 20 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Bahamas Univ. players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 18 points and 13 rebounds by Chauncey Cooper did not help to save the game for Abaco Strong. Malik Penn added 28 points. Bahamas Univ. maintains second position with 7-2 record having just two points less than leader Rockets, which they share with High Flyers. The best player for the winners was the former international guard DShon Taylor (196-93, college: Norfolk St.) who scored 27 points and 5 rebounds. The former international Michael Bain (185-85) chipped in 16 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Four Giants players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Alexander Rolle (-93) who recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds and Simon Cruz added 20 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Giants have an impressive nine-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 9-0 record. Regulators at the other side dropped to the third place with five games lost. They share the position with Wolverines. They outrebounded Bahamas Univ. 58-39 including 22 on the offensive glass. High Flyers players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. 30 personal fouls committed by Bahamas Univ. helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for Rashad Ingraham who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds. Shantoin Pratt contributed with 16 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. Four High Flyers players scored in double figures. Kemsy Sylvestre replied with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists and Rashad Sturrup added 18 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Bahamas Univ.Bahamas Univ.'s coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help.
