We bring you last week's top performances from Bahamians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.
#1. This week's number one is former international guard
Buddy Hield (193-93, college:
Oklahoma, currently plays in NBA). He led
Sacramento Kings to a victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves (15-33)
133-129 in the NBA in Monday night's game.
Hield was MVP of the game. He scored 42 points (!!!), had 5 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 38 minutes on the court.
The Sacramento Kings have 18-31 record this season.
Hield has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 20.3ppg, 5.1rpg, 3.1apg, 2FGP: 49.2%, 3FGP: 37.3% and FT: 82.9% in 48 games he played so far.
Hield played for the Bahamas senior national team two years ago.
#2. Second place goes to former international center
DeAndre Ayton (216-98, college:
Arizona, currently plays in NBA). He was the major contributor in a
Phoenix Suns' victory against the Dallas Mavericks (30-19) crushing them
133-104 in the NBA last Tuesday.
Ayton recorded 31 points (!!!) and grabbed 9 rebounds; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his second season in pro basketball. The Phoenix Suns have 20-29 record this season.
This year Ayton has very high stats. He averages: 17.4ppg, 11.3rpg, 1.8apg, 1.4bpg, 2FGP: 52.5% and FT: 84.4%.
Ayton played for the Bahamas national team in 2016.
#3. The Bahamas player who performed third best last week abroad was former international forward
Dwight Coleby (206-94, agency:
Interperformances, college:
WKU, currently plays in Basketball Champions League). He contributed to
Sassari's victory against the sixth-ranked Hapoel Holon (6-7)
83-73 in the Basketball Champions League on Tuesday night.
Coleby recorded 10 points, 8 rebounds and 3 blocks in 21 minutes.
Banco di Sardegna Sassari (10-3) is placed second in the Basketball Champions League.
It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row.
They will play only one more game in the Basketball Champions League Regular Season. And that game will be critical.
This year Coleby's overall stats are: 5.5ppg, 5.5rpg, 1.5bpg, 2FGP: 37.5% and FT: 83.3% in two games.
He played for the Bahamas national team two years ago.
#4. Forward
Tavario Miller (203-94, college:
Texas A&M, currently plays in Argentina) contributed to
Quimsa's victory against the eighth-ranked Penarol (9-10)
107-102 in the Argentinian La Liga in Friday night's game.
He recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and getting 10 rebounds; not bad, considering it's only Miller's third season in pro basketball. Quimsa Santiago del Estero (7-1) is placed first in the La Liga.
It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row.
But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen.
It's Miller's first year with the team.
His total stats this season are: 9.3ppg and 5.3rpg.
Worth to mention Miller played also at
Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball. Miller used to play for the Bahamas national team
back in 2018.
#5. Former international center
Zane Knowles (208-92, agency:
Octagon Europe, college:
Texas A&M-CC, currently plays in Bulgaria) contributed to an easy victory against the seventh-ranked Academik Plovdiv (7-11) crushing them
107-81 in the Bulgarian NBL last Saturday.
He scored 8 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 25 minutes. It was his first game for Levski Lukoil this season.
His team is placed second in the NBL.
Knowles used to play for the Bahamas national team
two years ago.
#6. An experienced forward
Jaraun Burrows (203-85, college:
PFW, currently plays in France) was the main contributor in
Aix-Maurienne's victory against the 16th-ranked Paris (5-10)
102-83 in the French ProB (second division) on Sunday night.
He was the best player in that game. Burrows recorded 32 points (!!!), 9 rebounds, 5 assists and made 2 blocks.
Aix-Maurienne Savoie Basket (8-9) is placed 12th in the ProB.
It's Burrows' first season with the team.
This year he has very high stats. Burrows averages: 15.6ppg, 6.3rpg, 2.9apg and 1.3spg.
He is a former international player as he played for the Bahamas senior team two years ago.
#7. International power forward
David Nesbitt (200-91, college:
St.Thomas, FL, currently plays in Brazil) could not help
Corinthians (7-3) in their last game. Despite Nesbitt's good performance Corinthians lost
83-94 in a derby game to the second-ranked Vivo/Franca.
He scored 14 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 27 minutes.
Nesbitt has relatively good stats this year: 11.1ppg, 5.9rpg and 1.6apg in 19 games.
He is also Bahamas national team player.
#8. Power forward
Jonathan Augustin-Fairell (201-93, agency:
Duran International, college:
Murray St., currently plays in Belgium) was not able to help
Basic-Fit Brussels (4-10) in their last game. Despite Augustin-Fairell's good performance Basic-Fit Brussels lost
62-77 on the road to the higher-ranked (#3) Belfius Mons-Hainaut.
He was the top scorer with 13 points. Augustin-Fairell also added 5 rebounds in only a mere 14 minutes.
It was Basic-Fit Brussels' fifth consecutive loss in a row.
This year Augustin-Fairell has relatively solid stats: 10.5ppg, 6.5rpg and 1.1apg in 14 games.
He has a dual citizenship: Bahamas and American.

back in 2018.
#9. Former international small forward
Mark St.Fort (200-88, college:
Warner, currently plays in Japan) was not able to secure a victory for
Saitama Broncos (16-17) in their last game on Saturday. Despite his very good performance Saitama Broncos were defeated
79-73 in Saga by the higher-ranked Ballooners (#4).
St.Fort was the second best scorer with 16 points. He also added 9 boards, passed 6 assists and added 3 steals.
This season St.Fort has very high stats. He averages: 18.4ppg, 10.0rpg, 2.5apg, 2.2bpg and 1.1spg.

#10. Power forward
Kadeem Coleby (206-89, agency:
HMS, college:
Wichita St., currently plays in Japan) couldn't help
Akita Happinets (15-19) in their last game. Despite Coleby's good performance the fifth-placed Akita Happinets (15-19) were edged
82-81 in Kyoto by the higher-ranked (#3) Hannaryz in the East group.
He had a double-double by scoring 12 points and getting 10 rebounds in 29 minutes.
This year Coleby's total stats are: 9.7ppg, 7.0rpg, 1.3apg and 1.8bpg in 27 games.
He attended previously one of camps at
Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball. He is a former international player as two years ago he still played for the Bahamas senior national team.
#11. Former U17 international forward
Qyemah Gibson (196-97, currently plays in Canada) contributed to a
Saint Mary's University's victory against the Sea Hawks
84-80 in the U Sports on Sunday night.
Gibson recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points and getting 14 rebounds. He also added 5 assists and 2 blocks.
This season Gibson has very high stats. He averages: 16.7ppg, 6.7rpg, 1.8apg and 1.7bpg.
Gibson used to play for the Bahamas U17 national team
seven years ago.
#12. Former international forward
Travis Munnings (198-94, also represented by
Interperformances, college:
ULM, currently plays in France) helped
La Rochelle edge the leader Etoile Angers
75-73 in the French NM1 (third division) in Friday night's game.
He was the top player that evening. Munnings recorded 22 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists in 36 minutes.
Munnings has averaged so far 10.0ppg, 6.5rpg and 3.0apg in two games.
He used to play for the Bahamas national team
back in 2018.
#13. International center
Shaquille Cleare (203-93, college:
Texas, currently plays in Spain) helped
Lleida Basquet win their game against the closely-ranked Castello
87-80 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) in Friday night's game.
He scored 10 points and added 3 passes.
Cleare has reliable stats this season: 11.1ppg, 4.4rpg and 1.3apg.
He is also Bahamas national team player.
#14. Former U17 international forward
Sebastian Gray (198-97, college:
N.Okl.-Enid. JC, currently plays in Canada) is a teammate of previously mentioned Qyemah Gibson and both played together in the last U Sports game.
Gray helped
Saint Mary's University win their game against the Sea Hawks
84-80.
He recorded 12 points and grabbed 7 rebounds in 31 minutes.
Gray has averaged so far 9.8ppg and 5.1rpg in 15 games.
He is another player who holds two passports: Bahamas and American.
Gray used to play for the Bahamas U17 national team
back in 2013.
#15. Former U17 international forward
Jordan Wilson (196-96, currently plays in Canada) helped
Dalhousie University win their game against the Capers
83-74 in the U Sports on Friday night.
He was the top player that evening. Wilson scored 15 points and added 3 assists.
Wilson has averaged so far 8.7ppg, 4.9rpg, 2.1apg and 1.5spg.
He used to play for the Bahamas U17 national team
seven years ago.
The list of other players, who all have Bahamas passport but never been selected to any of Bahamas national teams: #1. Azaro Roker (198-F, currently plays in Canada) led
St. Francis Xavier University to a 1-point victory over the Capers (6-9)
117-116 in the U Sports last Saturday.
Roker was the top player that evening. He recorded a double-double by scoring 30 points and getting 20 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws).
The St. Francis Xavier University has 9-6 record this season.
It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row.
Roker is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fourth year in St. Francis Xavier University's roster.
Roker has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 17.1ppg, 12.9rpg and 1.2apg.
#2. Nathan Bain (198-F, currently plays college basketball in the States) led
SF Austin to a victory against the Sam Houston State University (7-2)
81-76 in the NCAA last Saturday.
Bain scored 16 points, grabbed 6 boards, dished 4 assists and stole 4 balls (was perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line).
The Stephen F. Austin State University has a very good 7-1 conference record this season.
Bain has been at the team for five years.
He has averaged so far 3.9ppg, 2.8rpg and 1.2apg.
#3. Radshad Davis (188-F, currently studies in the States) contributed to an
UT Arlington's victory against the University of Louisiana at Monroe (2-7)
68-54 in the NCAA on Saturday night.
Davis scored 15 points in a mere 18 minutes.
The University of Texas at Arlington has 4-5 conference record this season.
Davis has averaged so far 8.0ppg, 6.1rpg and 1.6apg in 22 games he played so far.
#4. Kevin Altidor (196-F-90, college:
Young Harris, currently plays in Norway) was the major contributor in
Tromso's victory against the closely-ranked Ammerud Bskt (7-14)
89-86 in the Norwegian BLNO in Saturday night's game.
Altidor had a double-double by scoring 14 points and getting 11 rebounds. He also added 5 assists in 35 minutes.
Tromso Storm (9-13) is placed sixth in the BLNO.
Altidor has very impressive stats this year: 20.0ppg, 10.0rpg, 2.8apg and 2.2spg in 22 games.
#5. Brandon Meadows (190-G, currently plays in NCAA2) contributed to a
Eastern New Mexico University's victory against the University of Texas Permian Basin (3-5)
89-83 in the NCAA2 last Thursday.
He recorded 10 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists.
It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. The Eastern New Mexico University has 2-3 record this season.
Meadows has averaged so far 5.3ppg and 3.9rpg.
#6. Godfrey Rolle (180-PG, currently plays in NCAA2) helped
Southwest Baptist University win their game against the Maryville University
76-61 in the NCAA2 on Thursday night.
He recorded 9 points and added 4 assists in 32 minutes.
Rolle's stats this year are: 11.1ppg, 2.9rpg and 3.1apg in 18 games.
#7. Shaquillo Fritz (203-F/C-94, is currently at the American university) managed to help University of Pacific to win against the University of San Diego
66-58 in the NCAA last Saturday.
He scored only 2 points.
Fritz has averaged so far 2.8ppg and 3.4rpg.
#8. Shaquille Evans (196-F-95, currently plays in NAIA) helped
Montreat Anderson College win their game against the Truett-McConnell College
81-71 in the AAC on Saturday night.
He scored 5 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 22 minutes.
Evans has averaged so far 2.8ppg and 3.4rpg in 21 games.
#9. Edriel Martinborough (175-PG, currently plays in NAIA) could not help the
Evangel University (5-5) in their last game on Saturday. Despite his very good performance his team was crushed
101-74 on the road by the William Penn University.
Martinborough scored 19 points and added 5 assists.
Martinborough averaged so far 14.4ppg, 4.2rpg and 3.2apg.
#10. Nate Bethel (193-G, currently plays in NCAA2) helped
McKendree University win their game against the Lindenwood University
121-116 in the NCAA2 last Thursday.
He recorded 16 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in 32 minutes.
Bethel's stats this year are: 10.6ppg and 3.9rpg in 13 games.
