We bring you last week's top performances from Bahamians who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.
#1. This week's number one is former international guard
Buddy Hield (193-93, college:
Oklahoma, currently plays in NBA). He could not help the
Sacramento Kings (21-33) in their last game. Despite Hield's very good performance the Sacramento Kings (21-33) were badly defeated
130-111 on the road by the Dallas Mavericks.
He was the top scorer with 22 points. Hield also added 9 passes in 31 minutes on the court.
Hield has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 20.4ppg, 5.0rpg, 3.2apg, 2FGP: 49.2%, 3FGP: 38.5% and FT: 83.0% in 54 games he played so far.
Hield played for the Bahamas senior national team two years ago.
#2. Second place goes to former international forward
Tavario Miller (203-94, college:
Texas A&M, currently plays in Argentina). Miller was the major contributor in
Quimsa's victory against the 18th-ranked CA Platense (7-13) crushing them
102-77 in the Argentinian La Liga last Sunday.
He scored 20 points and grabbed 9 rebounds; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Miller's third season in pro basketball. Quimsa Santiago del Estero (7-1) is placed first in the La Liga.
It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row.
It's Miller's first year with the team.
He has relatively good stats this season: 10.4ppg, 5.2rpg, 2FGP: 68.9%(71-103), 3FGP: 33.3% and FT: 67.7%.
Worth to mention he played also at
Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball. Miller played for the Bahamas national team in 2018.
#3. The Bahamas player who performed third best last week abroad was an international power forward
David Nesbitt (200-91, college:
St.Thomas, FL, currently plays in Brazil). He led
Corinthians to a victory over the 12th-ranked Rio Claro (9-13)
88-79 in the Brazilian NBB on Tuesday night.
Nesbitt was MVP of the game. He had a double-double by scoring 27 points and getting 11 rebounds in 23 minutes.
Sport Club Corinthians Paulista (7-3) is placed fourth in the NBB.
It's Nesbitt's first season with the team.
This year Nesbitt has relatively solid stats: 11.8ppg, 6.2rpg, 1.8apg, 2FGP: 57.9%(70-121), 3FGP: 46.2%(24-52) and FT: 87.0% in 22 games.
He is also a member of the Bahamas senior national team.
#4. Guard
L.J. Rose (193-93, college:
Henderson St., currently plays in Czech Republic) contributed to a
BK Olomoucko's victory against the eighth-ranked BK Decin (10-15)
103-92 in the Czech Republic NBL in Saturday night's game.
Rose scored 9 points, had 5 rebounds and dished 9 assists. It was his first game for BK Olomoucko this season.
His team is placed fourth in Places 1-8 group.
It was BK Olomoucko's third consecutive victory in a row.
Rose has a dual citizenship: Bahamas and American.
Despite he played previously for the USA U16 national team, Rose is currently in the Bahamas national team roster.
#5. International center
Shaquille Cleare (203-93, college:
Texas, currently plays in Spain) was not able to help
Lleida Basquet (8-14) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Lleida Basquet was badly defeated
90-74 on the opponent's court by the much higher-ranked (#8) Palencia_Baloncesto.
Cleare was the top scorer with 20 points. He also added 5 rebounds in 28 minutes; not bad, considering it's only Cleare's second season in pro basketball. Cleare has reliable stats this year: 11.3ppg, 4.3rpg and 1.1apg in 22 games.
He plays currently for the Bahamas national team.
#6. Small forward
Mark St.Fort (200-88, college:
Warner, currently plays in Japan) helped
Saitama Broncos edge the closely-ranked Okayama (20-17)
84-83 in the Japanese B3 League on Saturday night.
St.Fort recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and getting 12 rebounds.
Saitama Broncos (17-20) are placed eighth in the B3 League.
This season St.Fort has very high stats. He averages: 18.1ppg, 9.9rpg, 2.3apg and 2.1bpg.
St.Fort is a former international player as he played for the Bahamas senior team two years ago.
#7. Former international power forward
Kadeem Coleby (206-89, agency:
HMS, college:
Wichita St., currently plays in Japan) was not able to secure a victory for
Akita Happinets (18-21) in their last game on Saturday. Despite his good performance the fifth-placed Akita Happinets (18-21) were defeated
80-76 in Okinawa by the leading Ryukyu GK in the East group.
Coleby was the second best scorer with 12 points. He also added 4 rebounds and made 3 blocks.
Coleby's overall stats this season are: 10.0ppg, 6.8rpg, 1.3apg and 1.9bpg.
Coleby attended previously one of camps at
Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball. He used to play for the Bahamas national team
two years ago.
#8. An experienced forward
Jaraun Burrows (203-85, college:
PFW, currently plays in France) couldn't help
Aix-Maurienne (8-12) in their game against Provence Basket (9-11) in the French ProB (second division). Despite his very good performance in Tuesday night's game He was the top scorer with 14 points. Burrows also added 6 passes.
Burrows averaged so far 14.9ppg, 5.8rpg, 3.0apg and 1.2spg.
He used to play for the Bahamas national team
back in 2018.
#9. Former U17 international forward
Qyemah Gibson (196-97, currently plays in Canada) helped
Saint Mary's University win their game against the X-Men (10-9)
96-87 in the U Sports last Saturday.
Gibson recorded 16 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists (made all of his five free throws) in 30 minutes.
The Saint Mary's University has 11-8 record this season.
It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row.
They will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical.
Gibson has very impressive stats this year: 15.7ppg, 6.7rpg, 1.8apg and 1.5bpg in 19 games.

#10. Forward
Travis Munnings (198-94, agency:
Interperformances, college:
ULM, currently plays in France) couldn't help
La Rochelle (8-17) in their game against JSA Bordeaux (12-13) in the French NM1 (third division). Despite his very good performance on Friday night Munnings recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and getting 10 rebounds. He also added 5 assists and 4 steals.
Munnings' team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And now that game is very crucial.
Munnings averaged so far 13.6ppg, 7.6rpg, 4.0apg and 1.8spg.
He is a former international player as two years ago he still played for the Bahamas senior national team.
#11. Former U17 international forward
Jordan Wilson (196-96, currently plays in Canada) helped
Dalhousie University win their game against the Panthers crushing them
103-75 in the U Sports in Sunday night's game.
Wilson scored 14 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and dished 4 assists in 21 minutes.
This year Wilson's overall stats are: 8.9ppg, 4.8rpg, 2.4apg and 1.4spg in 16 games.
He used to play for the Bahamas U17 national team
seven years ago.
#12. Former U17 international forward
Philip McKenzie (196-98, currently plays college basketball in the States) couldn't help the
Houston Baptist in their game against the Abilene Christian University in the NCAA. Despite his very good performance in Wednesday night's game McKenzie recorded 13 points and grabbed 4 rebounds.
His total stats this season are: 3.3ppg and 3.0rpg.
McKenzie used to play for the Bahamas U17 national team
back in 2015.
#13. Former U17 international forward
Charles Bain (203-96, currently studies in the States) couldn't help the
RMU in their game against the Fairleigh Dickinson University in the NCAA, despite his good performance last Saturday.
He recorded 10 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 30 minutes.
But his team was edged
72-71.
This year Bain's total stats are: 6.0ppg and 3.7rpg in 26 games.
He used to play for the Bahamas U17 national team
seven years ago.
#14. Former U16 international guard
Shamar Burrows (190-97, currently plays in Canada) is a teammate of previously mentioned Jordan Wilson. But that was another game of his team in U Sports which we would like to mention.
Burrows helped
Dalhousie University win their game against the Panthers crushing them
113-73.
He recorded 12 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in a mere 16 minutes.
Burrows has averaged so far 9.1ppg, 4.0rpg, 1.3apg and 1.8spg in 19 games.
He used to play for the Bahamas U16 national team
back in 2013.
#15. Former U17 international forward
Sebastian Gray (198-97, college:
NOC-Enid JC, currently plays in Canada) is a teammate of previously mentioned Qyemah Gibson. However that was another game of his team in U Sports which brought him to that list.
Gray helped
Saint Mary's University edge the X-Men
96-94.
He recorded 9 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
Gray averaged so far 10.5ppg and 5.3rpg.
He is another player who holds two passports: Bahamas and American.
Gray used to play for the Bahamas U17 national team
seven years ago.
The list of other players, who all have Bahamas passport but never been selected to any of Bahamas national teams: #1. Azaro Roker (198-F, currently plays in Canada) could not help the
St. Francis Xavier University (10-9) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the St. Francis Xavier University (#4) was edged
96-94 on the road by the Huskies.
Roker had a double-double by scoring 20 points and getting 15 rebounds in 32 minutes.
His team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical.
Roker is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fourth year in St. Francis Xavier University's roster.
Roker has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 17.3ppg, 13.2rpg and 1.2apg in 19 games he played so far.
#2. Radshad Davis (188-F, currently plays college basketball in the States) led
UT Arlington to a victory against the Arkansas State University (6-4)
77-67 in the NCAA on Thursday night.
Davis had a double-double by scoring 15 points and getting 14 rebounds. He also added 3 assists in 34 minutes.
The University of Texas at Arlington has 4-5 conference record this season.
There are only four games left until the end of the NCAA Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial.
This year Davis' overall stats are: 8.9ppg, 6.2rpg and 1.5apg in 26 games.
#3. Kevin Altidor (196-F-90, college:
Young Harris, currently plays in Norway) was the major contributor in
Tromso's victory against the closely-ranked Centrum (7-17)
98-79 in the Norwegian BLNO last Sunday.
Altidor recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and getting 11 rebounds. He also added 3 assists.
Tromso Storm (11-13) is placed sixth in the BLNO.
It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row.
There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season.
This season Altidor has very high stats. He averages: 19.6ppg, 9.8rpg, 2.8apg and 2.2spg.
#4. Nathan Bain (198-F, currently studies in the States) contributed to a
SF Austin's victory against the Texas A&M University Corpus Christi (7-17)
75-67 in the NCAA on Wednesday night.
Bain recorded 10 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 31 minutes.
The Stephen F. Austin State University has a very solid 7-1 conference record this season.
Bain has been at the team for five years.
This year his total stats are: 5.6ppg, 3.5rpg, 1.6apg and 1.1spg in 22 games.
#5. Shaquillo Fritz (203-F/C-94, is currently at the American university) helped
Pacific win their game against the University of Portland (1-5) crushing them
75-55 in the NCAA on Thursday night.
Fritz scored 8 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and made 3 blocks.
The University of Pacific has 3-3 conference record this season.
There are only three games left until the end of the NCAA Regular Season.
Fritz has averaged so far 2.8ppg and 3.3rpg.
#6. Shaquille Evans (196-F-95, currently plays in NAIA) managed to help Montreat Anderson College in a victory against the Bryan College
86-81 in the AAC last Saturday.
He recorded only 4 points in 15 minutes.
Evans' stats this year are: 10.5ppg and 5.3rpg in 19 games.
#7. Edriel Martinborough (175-PG, currently plays in NAIA) was not able to help the
Evangel University in their game against the Benedictine College in the NAIA.
He recorded 5 points.
His team was defeated
78-65 in the NAIA.
Martinborough averaged so far 13.9ppg, 4.0rpg and 3.1apg.
