Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Bahamians who are currently playing abroad.
#1. This week's number one is former international center
DeAndre Ayton (216-1998, college:
Arizona, currently plays in NBA). He was the major contributor in a 3-point
Phoenix Suns' victory against the New Orleans Pelicans (36-46)
114-111 in the NBA in Friday night's game.
Ayton had a double-double by scoring 28 points and getting 17 rebounds. He also added and 3 steals in 35 minutes on the court; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Ayton's first season in pro basketball. The Phoenix Suns have quite an impressive 64-18 record this season.
Ayton has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 17.4ppg, 10.2rpg, 1.5apg, 2FGP: 64.4%(471-731), 3FGP: 42.9% and FT: 74.8% in 62 games he played so far.
Ayton played for the Bahamas senior national team year ago.
#2. Second place goes to former international center
Zane Knowles (208-1992, agency:
BIG, college:
TAMUCC, currently plays in Balkan League). He could not help
Levski (4-2) in their last game. Despite Knowles' very good performance the fourth-placed Levski (4-2) lost
83-91 on the road to the higher-ranked (#3) M.Haifa in the group C of Balkan League.
He had a double-double by scoring 24 points and getting 13 rebounds in 25 minutes; not bad, considering it's only Knowles' first season in pro basketball. Knowles has relatively good stats this year: 10.4ppg, 7.6rpg, 2FGP: 65.7%(23-35) in five games.
He played for the Bahamas national team in 20.
#3. The Bahamas player who performed third best last week abroad was former international power forward
Aaron Levarity (203-1997, college:
Milligan, currently plays in Denmark). Levarity led
Svendborg to a victory against the third-ranked Horsens IC (18-10)
100-96 in the Danish BasketLigaen in Monday night's game.
He recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and getting 16 rebounds.
It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams. Svendborg Rabbits (19-9) is placed second in Winner Stage group.
This season Levarity has relatively solid stats: 14.8ppg, 11.2rpg, 2.2apg, 1.3spg, 2FGP: 61.7%(158-256), 3FGP: 29.8% and FT: 77.4%.
He played for the Bahamas national team year ago.
#4. An experienced forward
Jaraun Burrows (203-1985, college:
PFW, currently plays in France) contributed to a
STB Le Havre's victory against the sixth-ranked SOPCC (8-10)
105-97 in the French NM1 (third division) last Sunday.
Burrows recorded 7 points and had 3 steals in 30 minutes.
Saint Thomas Basket Le Havre (1-1) is placed second in Group A.
It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row.
Burrows has reliable stats this year: 13.3ppg, 4.5rpg and 2.0apg in 35 games.
He used to play for the Bahamas national team

#5. Former international center
Shaquille Cleare (203-1993, college:
Texas, currently plays in Spain) helped
Lleida edge the closely-ranked Palencia (18-12)
82-81 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) on Friday night.
Cleare scored 13 points.
It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. ICG Forca Lleida (20-9) is placed third in the LEB Gold.
There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical.
Cleare's overall stats this season are: 7.9ppg and 3.3rpg.
He used to play for the Bahamas national team

#6. Forward
Jonathan Augustin-Fairell (201-1993, college:
Murray St., currently plays in France) helped
Chalon/Saor win their game against the ninth-ranked Aix-Maurienne (14-16) crushing them
87-65 in the French ProB (second division) in Friday night's game.
Augustin-Fairell scored 6 points in 16 minutes.
ES Chalon-Sur-Saone (13-7) is placed first in the ProB.
It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row.
There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial.
This year Augustin-Fairell's overall stats are: 9.5ppg, 4.6rpg and 1.1spg in 24 games.
He has a dual citizenship: Bahamas and American.
Augustin-Fairell is a former international player as he played for the Bahamas senior team year ago.
#7. Former international forward
Danrad Knowles (208-1992, college:
Houston, currently plays in Spain) led
Cantbasket to a victory over the leader Santurtzi (23-6)
71-59 in the Spanish EBA (fourth division) last Saturday.
He was MVP of the game. Knowles scored 21 points, had 9 rebounds and made 2 blocks.
Cantbasket 04 (19-8) is placed fourth in Group A-A.
The Regular Season already ended.
Knowles averaged so far 13.0ppg, 6.5rpg and 1.3apg.
He is another player who holds two passports: Bahamas and American.
Knowles used to play for the Bahamas national team
years ago.
He played also for Discount Distributors Rockets in Bahamas league.
One more player who has never been selected to any of national teams, but has Bahamas passport: #1. Klay Thompson (198-G-1990, college:
WSU, currently plays in NBA) could not help the
Golden State Warriors (54-29) in their last game on Sunday. Despite his very good performance the Golden State Warriors (54-29) were defeated
126-121 on the road by the Denver Nuggets.
Thompson was the second best scorer with 32 points. He also added 4 rebounds.
Thompson has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 20.8ppg, 3.7rpg and 2.5apg.
Thompson has a dual citizenship: Bahamas and American.
