NPBA Round 13 (Regular Season): Derby game ends with Sand Dollar's defeat of Tucker Boys

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Nassau: Sand Dollar (#2) and Tucker Boys (#4). Tucker Boys were defeated at home 97-105 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Tucker Boys. Sand Dollar forced 19 Tucker Boys turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Van Hutchinson (193) who helped to win the game recording a triple-double by scoring 19 points, 20 rebounds, 15 assists and 5 steals. Horris McKenzie contributed with 8 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Leon Bain answered with 37 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 6 assists for Tucker Boys. Sand Dollar maintains second place with 7-1 record having just three points less than leader Rockets. Tucker Boys at the other side keep the fourth position with four games lost.
Another exciting game was again a derby between two teams from Nassau: Tucker Boys (#4) and TMT Giants (#3). Tucker Boys (3-4) won against visiting TMT Giants (5-4) 72-65. Lorenzo Rolle stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and Leon Bain chipped in 24 points. Tucker Boys' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side forward Christopher Johnson (190-2000, college: CCBC Catonsv.) responded with 8 points and 21 rebounds. Tucker Boys maintains fourth place with 3-4 record. TMT Giants at the other side keep the third position with four games lost. They share it with Regulators.

Bahamas Univ. was defeated at home 88-102 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Bahamas Univ.. Van Hutchinson nailed a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists for the winning side. Theodore Grant came up with a triple-double by scoring 13 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists for Bahamas Univ. in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sand Dollar maintains second place with 7-1 record having just three points less than leader Rockets which they share with defeated Bahamas Univ.. Loser Bahamas Univ. keeps the second position with six games lost.

In the last two games of round 13 Sunlight CS was beaten by Shockers on the road 68-58. Island DR lost to Regulators on its own court 69-81.
The most impressive performance of 13th round was 19 points and 13 rebounds by Theo Ferguson of Island DR.



Shockers - Sunlight CS 68-58

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when sixth ranked Shockers (2-7) beat 5th ranked Sunlight CS (2-7) in Nassau 68-58 on Saturday. Dario Mckenzie nailed 12 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists for the winning side and William Rigby accounted for 18 points and 5 rebounds. Four Shockers players scored in double figures. Camron Strachan came up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 21 rebounds and Johnley Noel added 15 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Sunlight CS in the defeat. Shockers moved-up to fifth place, which they share with defeated Sunlight CS. Sunlight CS lost fifth consecutive game.

Another exciting game was again a derby between two teams from Nassau: Tucker Boys (#4) and TMT Giants (#3). Tucker Boys (3-4) won against visiting TMT Giants (5-4) 72-65. Tucker Boys forced 23 TMT Giants turnovers. Strangely TMT Giants outrebounded Tucker Boys 55-42 including 23 on the offensive glass. Lorenzo Rolle stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and Leon Bain chipped in 24 points. Tucker Boys' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Another exciting game was again a derby match of two local teams from Nassau: Sand Dollar (#2) and Bahamas Univ. (#2). Bahamas Univ. was defeated at home 88-102 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Bahamas Univ.. Sand Dollar forced 26 Bahamas Univ. turnovers and outrebounded them 57-39 including a 30-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. Sand Dollar looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Guard Van Hutchinson (193) nailed a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists for the winning side and Dave Davis accounted for 19 points and 14 rebounds. Theodore Grant came up with a triple-double by scoring 13 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists and Javez Martin added 25 points respectively for Bahamas Univ. in the defeat. Five Sand Dollar and four Bahamas Univ. players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Rather expected game when 5th ranked Island DR (2-6) lost at home to third ranked Regulators (5-4) 81-69 on Monday. Alexander Rolle (-1993) nailed a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side and Canadian guard Zachary Pennerman (, college: Mount Allison) accounted for 16 points and 4 assists. Martin Conliff came up with 30 points and forward Theo Ferguson added 19 points and 13 rebounds respectively for Island DR in the defeat. Regulators maintains third place with 5-4 record having four points less than leader Rockets, which they share with TMT Giants. Loser Island DR keeps the fifth position with six games lost.
