NPBA Round 10 (Regular Season): Giants beat Zulu MM by three after a very close game

Sixth-ranked Zulu MM (5-4) was very close to win a game against second ranked Giants (9-1) in Nassau on Monday. Giants managed to secure only three-point victory 86-83. However their fans expected much easier game. Giants made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international power forward Eugene Bain (195-1988, college: Bellevue) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international guard Jackson Jacob (186-1990, college: NAIT) contributed with 26 points and 4 steals for the winners. Bertrum Minns replied with 29 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for Zulu MM. Zulu MM's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Giants maintains second position with 9-1 record behind leader High Flyers. Zulu MM at the other side dropped to the fifth place with four games lost.
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Nassau: Zulu MM (#6) and Shockers (#8). Shockers were defeated at home 67-82 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Bertrum Minns had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Kenrico Rolle chipped in 17 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Zulu MM's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side Dario Mckenzie responded with 18 points, 5 assists and 5 steals. Zulu MM (5-4) moved-up to fifth place. Shockers lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with nine games lost.

Zulu MM dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Shockers' 26. They outrebounded Shockers 71-35 including a 49-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Bertrum Minns had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Kenrico Rolle chipped in 17 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Zulu MM players scored in double figures. Zulu MM's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games.
