NPBA Round 12 (Regular Season): Zulu MM hands first defeat to High Flyers

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

High Flyers (10-1) recorded its first loss in Nassau on Friday night. Visitors were edged by fifth ranked Zulu MM (6-4) 93-92. It ended at the same time the ten-game winning streak of High Flyers. The best player for the winners was Rus-Shon Strachan who scored 33 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds. Kenrico Rolle chipped in 13 points, 13 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. At the other side the best for losing team was Dave Davis who recorded a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds. High Flyers' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Zulu MM moved-up to fourth place. High Flyers at the other side still keep top position with one game lost. They share it with Giants. Zulu MM's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Nassau Shockers.
Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Nassau: Giants (#2) and TMT Giants (#6). TMT Giants were smashed at home by 38 points 52-90 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It was a good game for forward Adrian Thompson (193) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. Van Hutchinson contributed with 8 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. Rakeem Minnis replied with 15 points and 5 rebounds for TMT Giants. Giants (10-1) used an opportunity after High Flyers lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. TMT Giants lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with nine games lost. Giants' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Nassau Tucker Boys.
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in . Third ranked Rockets faced 4th ranked Millionaires. Guests from Nassau (8-3) smashed host Millionaires (6-7) 98-63. Worth to mention a great performance of Roosevelt Whylly who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points, 18 rebounds and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was Johnathan Cox with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds. Rockets maintains third position with 8-3 record having just two points less than leader High Flyers. Newly promoted Millionaires dropped to the fifth place with seven games lost. Rockets' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Nassau High Flyers.

In the last game of round 12 Tucker Boys were defeated by Titans in a road game 47-35.




Millionaires - Rockets 63-98

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in . Third ranked Rockets faced 4th ranked Millionaires. Guests from Nassau (8-3) smashed host Millionaires (6-7) 98-63. They outrebounded Millionaires 65-44 including a 42-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Rockets looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Roosevelt Whylly who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points, 18 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international power forward Kadeem Coleby (206-1989, college: Wichita St., agency: Sport Avenir) who added 13 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Coleby is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. The best for the losing side was Johnathan Cox with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds and Cameron Chery produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds. Four Rockets and five Millionaires players scored in double figures. Rockets maintains third position with 8-3 record having just two points less than leader High Flyers. Titans - Tucker Boys 47-35

There was a minor upset when 8th ranked Tucker Boys (3-9) were defeated on the road by tenth ranked Titans (3-9) 47-35 on Saturday. Worth to mention a great performance of Dwajaneil Dorsett who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 4 assists and forward Kenneth Reckley (198, college: Niagara) who added 11 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was Lorenzo Rolle with 11 points and 5 rebounds and Erquantae Edgecombe scored 7 points. Titans moved-up to ninth place, which they share with defeated Tucker Boys. Titans will meet at home higher ranked Rebels (#7) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Tucker Boys' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Nassau to the arena Giants.

Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Nassau: Giants (#2) and TMT Giants (#6). TMT Giants were smashed at home by 38 points 52-90 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Giants dominated down low during the game scoring 82 of its points in the paint compared to TMT Giants' 28. They outrebounded TMT Giants 55-34 including a 37-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Giants players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was a good game for forward Adrian Thompson (193) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Van Hutchinson (193) contributed with 8 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. Rakeem Minnis replied with 15 points and 5 rebounds and Rashad Sturrup added 5 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for TMT Giants. Giants (10-1) used an opportunity after High Flyers lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. TMT Giants lost fourth consecutive game.
