Your Essential Store Giants successfully defended their BBF National Basketball Tournament Division II championship, overwhelming the Grand Bahama All Stars 96-72 in the title game at Kendal Isaacs Gymnasium to claim back-to-back national crowns.
The New Providence champions were in control from the outset, shooting 47.4 percent from the field and dominating the glass with a commanding 58-52 rebounding advantage that denied the Grand Bahama side any second-chance opportunities. YES placed five players in double figures in a balanced offensive display that the All Stars simply could not match.
K. Stubbs led the scoring with 19 points on 7-of-12 shooting, drilling four three-pointers in an efficient 20-minute outing. M. Saunders, who was named tournament MVP when YES won the same title in 2025, delivered another all-around performance with 15 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists in a team-high 28 minutes. J. Francoeur was a force inside with 14 points on 6-of-8 shooting, nine rebounds (all defensive), and three blocks. B. Rolle added 13 points and a game-high 11 rebounds, while G. Rolle contributed 13 points on 6-of-9 shooting. L. Johnson chipped in 11 points and 10 rebounds off the bench for a third double-digit rebounder.
The numbers told the story of YES's superiority: 10-of-30 from three-point range (33.3%) to Grand Bahama's 4-of-24 (16.7%), 43 defensive rebounds that limited second chances, and 10 steals that disrupted the All Stars' offensive rhythm throughout.
For Grand Bahama, M. Johnson led with 18 points on 7-of-17 shooting but found little consistent help. T. Rigby added 17 points on 4-of-14 from the floor, making up for his shooting struggles with a strong 7-of-8 performance from the free-throw line. M. Johnson (a different player sharing the same surname) contributed 10 points and seven rebounds. S. Knowles battled for 10 rebounds in 27 minutes but shot just 2-of-13 from the field, and K. Rolle managed only eight points on 3-of-13 shooting. The All Stars' 32.1 percent shooting and 16.7 percent from deep reflected a team that was never able to find its offensive footing against YES's stifling defense.
The title is the second consecutive BBF Nationals Division II championship for the YES Giants, who won the same crown in 2025 with a 94-75 victory over the Net Riders when Saunders was named tournament MVP and offensive player of the year.
