Lakers are the BABA champions after claiming a tough overtime win over last season's champions Pinelands in the decisive fifth game of the title series. Keefe Birkett (183-G-88) came up with 26 points to pace the champions. Lakers opened a 27:10 lead after the first period. But Pinelands picked up the tempo in the next quarter. They sank 29 points in the second frame to pull within 9 points at halftime 48:39. Pinelands got within four points heading into the fourth term. They unloaded 26 points in the fourth stanza to force overtime. But Lakers stood up to the challenge. They stepped up with 13 points in the extra period and triumphed at the end. Ricardo Jemmott delivered 24 points, while Lafeuillee had 17 points for the winners. Andre Lockhart (183-PG-86, college: Queens, NC) responded with 26 points for Pinelands. Jeremy Gill (183-G-81) had 23 points in the loss.
