BABA Round 8: Leader Bridgetown gets another victory

Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

Leader Bridgetown delivered the third win on Tuesday night. This time they crushed bottom-ranked Celtics (0-4) 101-53. Bridgetown dominated down low during the game scoring 78 of its points in the paint compared to Celtics' 38. Bridgetown forced 29 Celtics turnovers and outrebounded them 51-37 including 21 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Celtics' players. The best player for the winners was American power forward Granville Gittens (198, college: Baruch) who scored 19 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Forward Jamai Puckerin chipped in 20 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Antone Lawrence produced 15 points for the guests. Celtics' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Bridgetown have a solid three-game winning streak. Despite that victory Bridgetown went down to second position due to points difference, which they share with Lakers. Newly promoted Celtics still closes the standings with four games lost. Bridgetown is looking forward to face Lakers (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Celtics will play against Warriors and hope to get finally their first victory.
The game in was also worth to mention about. Second ranked Lakers (3-1) played at the court of 5th ranked Tridents (2-3). Lakers managed to secure a 6-point victory 75-69. The former international forward Andre Boadu (198-78) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds. Keefe Birkett contributed with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Guard Deroni Hurley (-1) replied with 17 points and 8 assists for Tridents. Tridents' coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Lakers have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 3-1 record having just three points less than leader Bulls, which they share with Cavaliers. Tridents at the other side keep the fifth place with three games lost. Lakers will play against league's second-placed Bridgetown in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tridents will have a break next round.



Tridents - Lakers 69-75

The former international forward Andre Boadu (198-78) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds. The former international guard Keefe Birkett (183-88) contributed with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Guard Deroni Hurley (-1) replied with 17 points and 8 assists and center Kiserian Adams (-0) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Tridents. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Tridents' coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Lakers have a solid three-game winning streak.
