BABA Round 10 (Regular Season): Tridents are defeated by Pinelands in a derby game

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Bridgetown: Pinelands (#1) and Tridents (#5). Pinelands (11-0) smashed visiting Tridents (4-8) by 67 points 117-50. Pinelands dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Tridents' 38. Pinelands forced 19 Tridents turnovers and outrebounded them 52-35 including 18 on the offensive glass. Pinelands looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Tridents' players. Guard Rasheed Maynard (188-2000) had a double-double by scoring 31 points, 11 rebounds, 8 assists and 7 steals to lead the charge for the winners and the former international guard Deroni Hurley (175-2001) chipped in 30 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals during the contest. At the losing side guard Nayiib Browne responded with 15 points and 7 rebounds. Tridents' coach C. Edwards gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Undefeated Pinelands have an impressive 11-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 11-0 record. Tridents at the other side keep the fifth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Lakers. Pinelands are looking forward to face Warrens (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Tridents' supporters also look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Bridgetown to the arena Bulls.
Another interesting game was again a derby between two teams from Bridgetown: Celtics (#3) and Bulls (#3). Bulls were defeated at home 73-80 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Bulls. Power forward Joel Hunte notched a double-double by scoring 14 points and 24 rebounds to lead the effort and Theo Greenidge supported him with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Celtics' coach C Vanderpool allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 30 points by Simeon Maynard did not help to save the game for Bulls. Despite that victory Celtics went down to fourth position due to points difference. Bulls at the other side keep the third place with four games lost. Celtics' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Bridgetown Cavaliers.

It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Celtics. Primus Walrond fired a double-double by scoring 21 points and 13 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) for the winners. Joel Hunte produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds for lost side. Celtics' coach C Vanderpool rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Lakers moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Tridents. Loser Celtics dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. Lakers' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Bridgetown Spartans.

In the last game of round 10 Warrens were destroyed by Cavaliers on the opponent's court 82-46.

Very expected game in Bridgetown where 7th ranked Warrens (2-9) were crushed by second ranked Cavaliers (11-1) 82-46 on Thursday. Cavaliers held Warrens to an opponent 24.7 percent shooting from the field compared to 43.6 percent accuracy of the winners. Cavaliers forced 28 Warrens turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Swingman Deveron Knight (190-2000) fired a double-double by scoring 28 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 steals for the winners. Forward Adriel Brathwaite (, college: Orange CC) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. Center Jonathan Dottin (203) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points, 22 rebounds and 5 blocks and guard Kaliel Austin added 2 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. They maintain second position with 11-1 record having just one point less than leader Pinelands. Warrens lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with nine games lost.
