Thorpe's 41-point game gives him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

24-year old Carl Thorpe (201-F -2001) had an amazing evening in the last round for Pinelands and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 6.
He had the game-high 41 points adding eight rebounds and four assists for Pinelands in his team's victory, helping them to edge out Bears (#6, 2-5) 98-94. Pinelands maintains the 4th position in Barbados league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Pinelands will need more victories to improve their 4-3 record. In the team's last game Thorpe had a remarkable 57.7% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Pinelands, being already a very valuable addition to the team. York University, NE graduate has very impressive stats this year. Thorpe is in league's top in points (2nd best: 31.1ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 12.6rpg), assists (3rd best: 4.9apg) and averages solid 2.4bpg,2.3spg and 63.2% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Deveron Knight (195-G-2000) of top-ranked Station Hill Cavaliers. He is international guard in his second season at Cavaliers. In the last game Knight recorded an impressive double-double of 28 points and 12 rebounds. Of course he led Cavaliers to another comfortable win 98-82 over slightly lower-ranked Celtics (#2, 6-1) being unquestionably team leader. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Cavaliers consolidated its place in the very top position of the standings. He plays for the best team in the league and Cavaliers managed to win all 7 games keeping a perfect record. Knight is well-known at Cavaliers and he already established his position as one of the team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 31.9ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 11.4rpg and 3.9apg.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Zane Gaskin (G) of NSC Combined Schools Tridents (#8). Gaskin scored 29 points and passed 5 assists. Despite Gaskin's great performance the Tridents lost 97-110 to the higher-ranked Lakers (#5, 3-4). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Tridents can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have awful season losing so far all 7 games. Too bad for Gaskin he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Gaskin has individually a great season in Barbados. After only 6 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 3.8apg (4th best).
