Regular Season Round 12: UniFacisa - Tigrillos 99-64
Date: October 24, 2022
The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Brazilian UNIFACISA as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (San Jose) loss. UNIFACISA smashed 4th ranked Colombian Tigrillos in Paraiba 99-64. They outrebounded Tigrillos 50-26 including a 38-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. UNIFACISA players were unselfish on offense dishing 32 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Tigrillos' players. The winners were led by Antonio Ferreira (200-1994) who scored that evening 24 points and 7 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) and Argentinian-Italian point guard Facundo Corvalan (190-1998) supported him with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four UNIFACISA players scored in double figures. UNIFACISA's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 22 points by Argentinian Patricio Pinero (195-1995) did not help to save the game for Tigrillos. Michael Areiza added 9 points and 7 rebounds. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with 8 other teams. Tigrillos at the other side still closes the standings with three games lost. They share the position with Pichincha and Los Leones.
