No shocking result in a game when top-ranked GEPU (1-0) beat bottom-ranked CAO Ceres (0-2) in San Luis 79-64 on Tuesday. The winners were led by American Tirrell Brown (198-1993, college: OBU) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds and swingman Hans Ponce (192-1999) supported him with 16 points. Five GEPU players scored in double figures. GEPU's coach Gustavo Fernandez allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even a double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds by American forward Xavier Jones (196, college: JCSU) did not help to save the game for CAO Ceres. Pablo Martinez (197-1982) added 9 points and 13 rebounds for lost side. GEPU left bottom position moving up to sixth place in Liga Argentina. Loser CAO Ceres still closes the standings with two games lost. GEPU will meet at home San Isidro (#10) in the next round. CAO Ceres will have a break next round.
