Regular Season Round 5: Regatas - Obras 62-50

There was an upset in Corrientes where higher ranked Obras (3-2) was defeated by twelfth ranked Regatas (2-1) 62-50 on Tuesday. Regatas well out of reach of Obras shooting 75.9 percent from the field. The best player for the winners was point guard Tobias Franchela (185-2001) who scored 19 points. Center Joaquin Marcon (203-2001) chipped in 17 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Regatas' coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Chilean point guard Felipe Inyaco (192-2002) produced 17 points and forward Matias Von Schmeling (200-2001) added 10 points respectively for the guests. Regatas moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Union. Loser Obras dropped to the sixth position with two games lost. Regatas will meet Comunicaciones (#12) in the next round. Obras will play against San Lorenzo (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
