Regular Season Round 5: Union - Instituto 69-81

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Union (2-1) in Santa Fe on Tuesday night. Hosts were defeated by Instituto (6-1) 81-69. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Union. Farid Celador stepped up and scored 20 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and point guard Juan Frontera (178-2002) chipped in 21 points. Four Instituto players scored in double figures. Guard Matias Reynoso (187-2005) responded with 20 points and Matias Fleury (-2001) scored 9 points and 5 assists. Union's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Instituto maintains first place with 6-1 record. Union at the other side keeps the ninth position with one game lost. They share it with Regatas. Instituto are looking forward to face Penarol (#16) in Mar del Plata in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Union will play at home against Ferro (#17) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
