There was a minor upset when 7th ranked Nejapa (6-14) lost to ninth ranked Brujos (5-8) in Izalco 83-97 on Friday. Brujos dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Nejapa's 32 and made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Brujos looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Brujos made 13 blocks. American forward Arinze Obiora (196-1997, college: UMass Dartmouth) notched a double-double by scoring 18 points, 14 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 blocks to lead the effort and Winston Andrews supported him with 23 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Obiora is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Even a double-double of 16 points, 17 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks by center Teodoro Romero (202-1985) did not help to save the game for Nejapa. American guard Kylon Higgins (190-1993, college: Arkansas Tech) added 19 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the guests. Five Brujos and four Nejapa players scored in double figures.
