Regular Season Round 6: Caballos - Lobos 65-69

Another exciting game was played in Aguadulce between second ranked Lobos and one of their biggest challengers Caballos where Lobos (6-4) beat Caballos (5-5) on the road 69-65. Lobos forced 25 Caballos turnovers. It was a good game for Costa Rican swingman Daniel Shedden (191-1996, college: MSUB) who led his team to a victory with 27 points and 6 rebounds. Costa Rican Victor Arias (197-1995) contributed with 13 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Gil Atencio (202-1996, college: St.Clair) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 18 rebounds and swingman Jose Montenegro (191-1998) added 20 points in the effort for Caballos. Caballos' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Lobos have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted Lobos maintains second position with 6-4 record having four points less than leader Atletico Nacional. Caballos lost third consecutive game. They keep the third place with five games lost. They share the position with Halcones. Lobos will play against league's leader Atletico in Panama City in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Caballos will play against Centinelas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
