Regular Season Round 5: Quimsa - San Martin 79-73

The most surprising game was the first loss of undefeated San Martin (3-1) in Santiado del Estero on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by eighth ranked Quimsa (4-3) 79-73. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of San Martin. Quimsa made 17-of-18 free shots (94.4 percent) during the game. Guard Agustin Perez (192-1999) stepped up and scored 18 points for the winners and American power forward Eric Anderson (204-1993, college: New Haven) chipped in 10 points and 9 rebounds. Quimsa's coach Manuel Cordoba used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Santiago Ferreyra (188-1997) responded with 17 points and the former international Matias Solanas (192-1998) scored 15 points and 4 assists. Four San Martin players scored in double figures. Quimsa have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to fourth place. San Martin at the other side dropped to the fifth position with one game lost. Quimsa are looking forward to face Platense (#9) in Florida in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. San Martin will play on the road against the league's second-placed Olimpico (#2) in La Banda and is hoping to win this game.
