The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Montevideo: Lagomar (#2) and Urunday (#6). Lagomar (9-1) smashed visiting Urunday (2-8) by 37 points 79-42. Lagomar held Urunday to an opponent 22.1 percent shooting from the field compared to 44.9 percent accuracy of the winners. Lagomar forced 23 Urunday turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of center Selena Medrik (177-1992) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds. Argentinian guard Melina Marcial (168-1998) contributed with 11 points, 8 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Mariana Garcia (-2005) replied with 9 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Martina Caldas (160-2000) added 7 points and 4 steals in the effort for Urunday. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Lagomar have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Aguada and Yale. Urunday at the other side dropped to the fifth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Paysandu.
