Regular Season Round 7: CAO Ceres - Ameghino 69-72

Sixteenth-ranked CAO Ceres (0-5) used its home court advantage to challenge second ranked Ameghino (5-1). The visitors from Villa Maria managed to secure only three-point victory 72-69. However their fans expected much easier game. It was a great evening for point guard Emiliano Lezcano (187-2001) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 7 rebounds. Power forward Juan Luis Abeiro (200-1988) helped adding 10 points and 7 rebounds. Ameghino's coach Pablo Castro allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the losing side point guard Manuel Alonso (195-1999, agency: BIG) responded with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Facundo Gago (178-1996) scored 11 points, 8 rebounds, 9 assists and 5 steals. Four Ameghino and five CAO Ceres players scored in double figures. Ameghino have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader. CAO Ceres at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost. Ameghino will play against Villa S.Martin (#14) in Resistencia in the next round which should be an easy win for them. CAO Ceres will play on the road against Tucuman in San Miguel de Tucuman and hopes to get finally their first victory.
