Regular Season Round 7: Obras - La Union 74-61
Date: November 3, 2022
No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Obras (5-3) beat 13th ranked La Union (3-6) in Buenos Aires 74-61 on Thursday. It was an exceptional evening for the former international point guard Pedro Barral (187-1994) who led the winners and scored 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Uruguayan forward Emiliano Serres (205-1997, agency: Pro Sports) accounted for 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Four Obras players scored in double figures. DR Congolese forward David Efambe (201-2001) came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Michael Henry (196-1995, college: Buffalo St.) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively for La Union in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Obras. They maintain fifth place with 5-3 record, which they share with Quimsa. Loser La Union dropped to the fourteenth position with six games lost. Obras will meet at home higher ranked Obera (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. La Union will play against Olimpico (#3) in La Banda and hope to secure a win.
