Very predictable result when seventh ranked Ferro (4-4) won against 19th ranked Atenas (1-6) in Cordoba 85-68 on Friday. Ferro outrebounded Atenas 36-25 including a 34-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for swingman Lucas Gargallo (196-1995) who led the winners and scored 26 points and 5 rebounds. Swingman Valentin Bettiga (189-1999) accounted for 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. Naturalized Italian center Omar Canton (205-1982) came up with 15 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Maximiliano Araujo (183-2002) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Atenas in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Ferro maintains seventh place with 4-4 record, which they share with Argentino. Atenas lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the nineteenth position with six games lost. Ferro will meet league's second-placed Gimnasia in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Atenas will have a break next round.
