Regular Season Round 3: Olimpico - Riachuelo LR 47-40

There was a minor upset when Riachuelo LR (2-1) was defeated on the road by La Banda (2-2) 47-40 on Saturday. La Banda forced 26 Riachuelo LR turnovers. It was a great evening for point guard Aldana Pineiro (163-1998, agency: BIG) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. Melina Niz helped adding 20 points. La Banda's coach Rocio Soledad Perez used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Ornella Santelli with 18 points and 6 rebounds and Florencia Ortiz scored 4 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. La Banda will meet Quimsa (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Riachuelo LR will play against Cordoba and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
