Regular Season Round 9: Brisas - Los Leones 47-91

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Santiago. Leader Los Leones faced 4th placed Brisas. Guests from Quilpue (5-0) smashed host Brisas (1-4) 91-47. They outrebounded Brisas 45-28 including a 37-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Los Leones players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Brisas' players. It was a good game for international forward Ignacio Carrion (201-1993) who led his team to a victory with 23 points and 9 rebounds. American Tyrone Lee (203-1990, college: GVSU) contributed with 18 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Five Los Leones players scored in double figures. Guard Felipe Oyarzun (187-1989) answered with 16 points and 8 rebounds and power forward Sascha Frings (202-1986) added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Brisas. Brisas' coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Los Leones. They maintain first place with 5-0 record. Brisas at the other side keep the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Los Leones will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
