Important game to mention about took place in Panama City. Second ranked LA U (5-5) saved a 3-point victory at home edging 3rd placed Amazonas (4-5) 62-59 on Tuesday evening. It was a key game for the second position in the league. LA U forced 30 Amazonas turnovers. Strangely Amazonas outrebounded LA U 60-39 including a 26-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. Venezuelan guard Crismar Rojas stepped up and scored 30 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and Venezuelan forward Veronica Guedez (170-2001) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds. Colombian center Libia De la Rosa (185-1992) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 17 rebounds and center Gloria Martinez (181) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds. LA U have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 5-5 record having just one point less than leader Leonas, which they share with Cobras. Amazonas at the other side dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. LA U will play against league's second-placed Cobras in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Amazonas will play against the league's leader Leonas and hope to get back on the winning track.
