Regular Season Round 10: Tucuman - GEPU 84-96

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Tucuman (3-4) lost to fourth ranked GEPU (6-1) in San Miguel de Tucuman 84-96 on Tuesday. It was a great shooting night for GEPU especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. American Tirrell Brown (198-1993, college: OBU) notched 24 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and Pablo Osores (194-1986) supported him with 21 points. Even a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds by Ignacio Echevarria (195-1998) did not help to save the game for Tucuman. Guard Jose Muruaga (188-1984) added 19 points for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Tucuman's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. GEPU have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Loser Tucuman dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. GEPU will meet at home Sarmiento R. (#16) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Tucuman will play against Villa S.Martin (#15) and hope to secure a win.
