Regular Season Round 10: CAO Ceres - Colon SF 93-81

There was a surprise result when sixteenth ranked CAO Ceres (2-6) defeated at home higher ranked Colon SF (4-3) 93-81 on Wednesday. CAO Ceres made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Point guard Manuel Alonso (195-1999, agency: BIG) notched 33 points (!!!), 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals to lead the effort and point guard Facundo Gago (178-1996) supported him with 19 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Even a double-double of 24 points and 11 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field) by American forward Dwayne Russell (203, college: St.Thomas, FL) did not help to save the game for Colon SF. Point guard Joaquin Baeza (182-1986, agency: BIG) added 16 points and 7 assists for lost side. Four Colon SF players scored in double figures. CAO Ceres moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Rocamora. Loser Colon SF dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with La Union. CAO Ceres will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Colon SF will play against Independiente (#13) and hope to secure a win.
