No shocking result in a game when third ranked Quezaltepeque (16-4) crushed 9th ranked Brujos (5-8) in Izalco 105-56 on Saturday. Quezaltepeque dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Brujos' 40. They outrebounded Brujos 64-35 including a 44-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Quezaltepeque looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Quezaltepeque made 17 blocks. Cuban forward Yoel Cubillas (204-1994) notched a double-double by scoring 22 points, 34 rebounds, 6 assists and 9 blocks to lead the effort and Alberto Liriano (-1998) supported him with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Quezaltepeque players scored in double figures. Even 20 points and 9 rebounds by American forward Arinze Obiora (196-1997, college: UMass Dartmouth) did not help to save the game for Brujos. Joshua Quincy added 8 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Quezaltepeque keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Santa Tecla and Aguila. Brujos at the other side keep the ninth place with eight games lost.
