Regular Season Round 4: Montmartre - Ameghino 51-47

There was a minor upset when 7th ranked Ameghino (2-3) lost on the road to tenth ranked Catamarca (1-4) 51-47 on Saturday. The winners were led by Mexican point guard Dana Soto (167-1997) who scored that evening 10 points and 6 rebounds and Bolivian Romina Moreira (-1999) supported her with 11 points and 5 rebounds. Catamarca's coach Jose Collantes used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even 17 points by center Violeta Maggi (185-2004) did not help to save the game for Ameghino. Maira Perren added 12 points for lost side. Despite that victory Catamarca went down to eleventh position due to points difference, which they share with Union Florida. Ameghino at the other side dropped to the sixth place with three games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Catamarca will meet at home higher ranked La Banda (#7) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Ameghino will play against Riachuelo LR and hope to secure a win and be promoted back to the just one year after relegation.
