Regular Season Round 14: Chalchuapa - Aguila 98-193

Very predictable result when third ranked Aguila (16-4) rolled over on the road bottom-ranked Chalchuapa (0-20) 193-98 on Sunday. Aguila dominated down low during the game scoring 108 of its points in the paint compared to Chalchuapa's 84. Aguila forced 45 Chalchuapa turnovers and outrebounded them 52-37 including a 34-15 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 45 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Chalchuapa's players. American point guard Marquise Mosley (175-1997, college: Biola, CA) notched 39 points (!!!), 6 rebounds, 9 assists and 5 steals to lead the effort and Ernesto Rodriguez (170-2001) supported him with 34 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 10 assists. Even a double-double of 33 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds (on 16-of-20 shooting from the field) by Jamaican-American forward Devin Thompson (199-1980, college: St.Peter's) did not help to save the game for Chalchuapa. Guard Fernando Del Valle (177-2002) added 17 points and 5 assists for the hosts. Five Aguila and four Chalchuapa players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Aguila keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Quezaltepeque and Santa Tecla. Chalchuapa at the other side still closes the standings.
