Regular Season Round 12: Echague - Independiente 63-80

We should mention about the upset which took place in Parana, where higher ranked Echague (3-5) lost at home to fourteenth ranked Independiente (3-6) 63-80. Independiente shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 56.5 percentage. It was a good game for guard Emiliano Correa (188-1991) who led his team to a victory with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Jonatan Basualdo (198-1999) contributed with 10 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Five Independiente players scored in double figures. Guard Federico Gonzalez (183-1988) replied with 13 points and 6 rebounds and guard Joaquin Fernandez (189-2003) added 15 points in the effort for Echague. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Independiente moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with 4 other teams. Echague lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with five games lost. Independiente will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Echague will play on the road against Villa S.Martin (#15) in Resistencia and hopes to get back on the winning track.
