Regular Season Round 6: Sergio Ceppi - UDC 69-74

Very expected game in Santiago where 6th ranked Sergio Ceppi (1-6) was defeated by first ranked UDC (7-1) 74-69 on Saturday. UDC forced 21 Sergio Ceppi turnovers. Strangely Sergio Ceppi outrebounded UDC 53-36 including 39 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Antonia Andaur (-2002) who scored 25 points and 8 rebounds. The former international point guard Javiera Novion (170-1987, college: Eckerd) chipped in 15 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals. UDC's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international forward Francisca Salvatierra (173-1994) who recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and center Katalina Garcia (182-1994) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. UDC maintains first position with 7-1 record, which they share with Univ.Concepcion. Sergio Ceppi lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth place with six games lost. They share the position with Infinito and UNAB Concep.. UDC will meet at home league's second-placed Sportiva Ita. in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Sergio Ceppi will play against New Crusaders in Valparaíso and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
