No shocking result in a game when second ranked Catolica (5-2) crushed 5th ranked Arabe de Valp. (1-7) in Santiago 109-52 on Saturday. Catolica dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Arabe de Valp.'s 22. Catolica forced 30 Arabe de Valp. turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Arabe de Valp.'s players. It was an exceptional evening for American forward T.J. Robinson (203-1989, college: LBSU) who led the winners and scored 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international guard Eduardo Sepulveda (186-1986) accounted for 20 points and 5 assists for the winning side. Five Catolica players scored in double figures. Brazilian Pedro Soares (200) came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and center Carlos Ahuile (193-1999) added 7 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Arabe de Valp. in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Catolica maintains second place with 5-2 record having just two points less than leader Manquehue, which they share with Tinguiririca and Truenos. Arabe de Valp. lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the fifth position with seven games lost. They share it with Liceo Curico. Catolica's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Santiago to the arena Sergio Ceppi.
